| Hey guys, I've lurked this forum for a very long time and I just now decided to go ahead and make an account and post. Great community. ![]() Anyway, after a lot of research I've narrowed my choices to the Silver Surfer and Da Buddha. Now I don't mind not having all of the fancy glass knobs and etc. I'm all for the effect. Is biting the bullet and getting the Silver Surfer going to be worth it for the better high? Or is the high even better? It just seems to me like Da Buddha is pretty much just a stock version of the Silver Surfer. Can anyone give me a good comparison between the two and recommend me one? I've read a bunch of threads here on these and I've searched but some final input would be great. Thanks everyone. ![]() Also, I've heard that the vaporizer high is different than the smoking high. I'm sort of familiar with the reasons behind this and all but I was wondering - is this high less enjoyable? I'm the type of marijuana user that likes to take long breaks then hit it really hard and just get blown away. I've heard that the vape high is less lethargic and I'm fine with that, but I still like the just sitting there waving back and forth calmly while feeling an imaginary waterfall running down your body effect... lol. Can someone kind of explain their vape high experiences to me? Thanks again for all the help. |

| i prefer the surfer for home use. i like the buddha in my car for road trips. the surfer has a wand that is easier to dig around in, load with fresh nuggies, and it is easier to change the screen.

| Are the heating units almost the same? The SS looks nicer but it seems to achieve the same results as Da Buddha. If that's truly the case then I'd rather just grab Da Buddha. Is there any other reason to go with the Silver Surfer when you're not looking at ease of use or looks but rather getting the end result done? |

| I'm with Tokin. Neither of us is a hands free fan, but if a ground glass connection is what you want the DB is the one to go with. GG on the SSV adds $45 to the price and the heater angle isn't friendly to a secure connection long term-it's that gravity thing. Personally, I don't want a hands free connection and the SSV angle is perfectly user friendly for me, so that's what I bought. Quote:

I get more THC with vapor. It retains more and I can tolerate no end of vapor -not so with smoke. I predict you'll like it too. ![]()

| Interesting. But yeah, I just asked that because I heard the high is sort of different and less lethargic. If it still brings those effects I mentioned AND it makes you less tired then I suppose that's actually better. ![]() Hmmm so Silver Surfer it is then. I don't want to have to worry about the gravity angle and etc. My friend has an SS and he says he absolutely loves it so I think I'll go with that. |

| My understanding of the ground glass connection is that is like the one found on the buddha. Which is to say the wands fit into the heating chamber glass piece as opposed to the heating chamber nozzle going into wand which is the way it is on a regular connection on the SSV (please correct me if i'm wrong , i only have a buddha atm, this from what i can tell from the videos i've seen). A plus of the ground glass connection is that it's hands free so to speak , you don't have to hold the wand to the nozzle like on a normal connector , you can just leave inserted and it will hold there. On the buddha atleast , not sure about the SSV because of the angle. Anyways i'll throw my 5 cents in for the buddha , I like it , it's make for big hits that's for sure. I suspect the SSV's hits are tastier (more vapor , less air) simply because of the design but they do require more work. And like I said you just can't sit there with the nozzle in one hand and the other hand doing whatever with as much ease on the SSV .Still i'm curious and will probably getting one eventually just to compare ![]() |

| A ground glass connection means gg on both ends, making a tight connection. It doesn't matter which part is male or female. It's used where you want a good solid glass to glass connection. |

| I couldnt imagine using a vape without hands free, typically meaning a GG connection but its all I have known in my vaping experience and also not everyone feels the same as me but I have not seen anyone who has started off with hands free vaporizer and prefere a non hands free version. In my opinion it is simply just too convienant. |

| Oh I see. So on the DB can you still rotate it while you're taking a hit? |
