a couple changes that i found out about today.

they have done away with the acrylic bases, all ssv bases are aluminum now
for a limited time there are black buddhas.

skunkypete, the wands of the ground glass ssv and dbv are indeed interchangable, the only difference is that the ssv wand will have some coloring on it.

also, they just got a laser engraver, so the wands for da buddhas have a little dbv and the surfers have a ssv etched in the wand.

custom engraving is also available, pricing depends on what you want on the unit/glass

If I am correct he needs a transformer unless he can get a dual switch but I think its only offered as 220v or 120v
Yes that was my point, test it in US before guy will come back to Poland, but after tokin had said, they can do some additional tests in factory - i'll be less afraid - thats what i like about small companies.

Another good news is it'll be all black metal

forgot to mention, i did bring your situation up to tina, the number 2 person in house there at the factory. told them that they would be getting an order for a 220v that was being first shipped somewhere in the states. she said that she would keep an eye out for the order. as far as pre shipment testing, they do that just before final packing of the unit, while i was there i saw them turn on a few units and then turn them off a few minutes later. they have a table lined with 110 and another table lined with 220 volt outlets, to assure that ALL units get tested before leaving their shop.

ark, to be safe with your unit, i would probably have your buddy who picks it up for you give it a try, have him turn it on full power for about 15 minutes, then have him turn it down to about three-quarters power(make sure to have him wait about 15 more minutes after this to let the heating element FULLY stabalize) and see if it rips a bowl as it properly should.

i mention this because the very first unit i got from a local headshop turned on and worked when it was at full power, but at anything less than full power it wouldnt hit at all. i just had to take it back to the headshop and they got a quick replacement(they didnt have any more of the green bases, so they had one overnighted from the factory) and that one worked perfect as could be.

5drive: i didn't know about different plugs, i though that 220v versions are made with european plugs or something, but i don't think it'll be big problem anyway.
Power plugs differ from one country to another. There are more than a dozen different configurations. It's a mess. But it's pretty easy to replace a plug. You just need to know which wire is which-hot, neutral, and ground.

I knew there are different plugs for different countries just thouth 220v would be european type you know they sell game consoles for example in europe and they got the same plugs across all countries in EU. Maybe in UK they got different plugs like all other things there :P

Anyway thanks all of you for helping me, especially tokin - you should be hired by 7th Floor, you're doing really good publicity for them - more companies should learn, movies such as yours are really important to convince people to product - myself just looking at these movies i was feeling stoned and banana smiling (1g and that 3 hit at once movie, you should make more movies with few people). I'm just waiting for my ecard for internet shopping to arrive and will order SSV right away. Another thing is that 220v to 120v converter, i've tried searching on radioshack.com but didn't found anything.

Do you know where that guy who will carry SSV to Poland can buy such thing in US and cheaper would be better

Most stores that sell electrical supplies should have them. Here's one that also has power plugs for different countries:

Just google or search for "Electric Converter" and you will have lots of options.
heres some:
Electric Converter - Compare Prices, Reviews and Buy at NexTag - Price - Review

You will not have to change a plug.

Tokin, how do the Black Da Buddha's look? I wanted to get that Black Rainbow SSV, but since I don't wanna spend $250, those new black db's look like a good second. Also what would you recommend getting with da buddha, accessory-wise. Extra whip (which kind), extra screens?

Obviously not for testing in the US . But Poland uses plug types C and E, not A and B, as in the US.

i should have a couple pics of it up later today. i am a huge fan of the black units, i had to buy a black ssv on sight, i bet there will be a couple of people that feel the same about this black buddha
(':

for either the ssv or dbv, it is recommended to get an extra glass wand, an extra......8-12 feet of tubing(i usually use a 4 ft length of tubing for my whip, and that will last me a looooooong time, but it is ALWAYS wise to have excess on hand in case something should happen to your main tubing) and an extra 10-20 screens. with that package, i think youll be solid for a good while.

party on, wayne
