It sounds like maybe you are not pushing the butane canister down hard enough onto the fill plug, located beside the inhale tube.

When it spurts out white vapor and is very cold, it is full.

WTF? There is no plastic taste.
The 'plastic' does not get hot enough to vaporize it. nor melt it.

If you unscrew the tube while its at its hottest, you can see that the threads of the screw are still rock hard, altho fuggin hot, its not even coming close to melting.

Agreed the plastic on the Vapir doesn't get hot enough to be a health issue, but many users have reported a plastic taste/smell when first using the vape. If you never noticed it with the Mini, you're in the minority. It's best to do a 'burn in' with this model-run it wide open for a while before using it to vape with.

The iolite uses two different kinds of high tech plastics-one for the interior and the other for the exterior. It doesn't really get complaints of plastic taste like the Vapir. I find that it actually provides very good herb taste on the first hit or two.

I had never used a vaporizer before. I would usually use a pipe. I was interested for two reasons

1. I'm an Athlete and wanted to avoid the smoke
2. I'm a closet smoker and didn't want to smell like pot + I wanted to be able to smoke in my house or hotel rooms when I travel.

Being a closet smoker meant I couldn't get something big like most Vaporizers. I went to my local pipe shop and had a look. Every single one was huge. I was about to say forget it and go back to the pipe until the shop owner showed me the iolite.

It was small and looked like a cell phone. $250 seemed spendy but after reading some reviews I decided to go for it.

First off it runs off butane so you don't need to plug it in. But the best part about it is how easily it is for me to conceal. For me, the biggest burden when it comes to getting high is finding a safe secluded spot. If I there is anyone around at all I feel completely paranoid and this just ruins the experience for me. With the Iolite I can literally smoke anywhere and feel safe.

Here's why. The Iolite is small enough to fit in a small starbucks coffee cup. I load it up, turn it on, and put a lid on it with the mouthpiece of the Iolite sticking out of the drink whole. It looks like i'm just sipping on a drink through a straw but I'm totally getting stoned.

As far as vaping, I'm sold! I will never go back to smoking a pipe again.

The Iolite was a great investment. It works perfectly. In some ways it seems just too good to be true.

yeah, iolite is a good portable vape, but i wish the price was based on the value, i mean the parts to make it are not any more then 20 dollars., why charge 200?
