| Great stuff, thanks 5drive. It's good to see a legitimate portable vape on the market. I never liked Vapir's products one bit. The plastic worries me, though.

| From a representative of Oglesby & Butler, the I-inhale manufacturer, here's an update on the materials used in the vape. I'm reassured. They're using some high tech stuff in this vape. "The Outside plastic is not your everyday commonly found plastic. It is “Ultem 1000” which is FDA and United States Pharmacoepia Class VI compliant. Ultem 1000 is a thermoplastic polyetherimide high heat polymer designed by General Electric. Ultem is also commonly machined into parts for reusable medical devices, electrical/electronic insulators and a variety of structural components requiring high strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures. The reason we picked this plastic was because it has low thermal conductivity. If we used metal or other far cheaper plastics like glass filled nylon we could not make it so small without burning your hand off. The internal plastics are made from DuPont Automotive Zenite* liquid crystal polymer, which also has a very low thermal conductivity and is FDA approval for use in repeated food-contact applications. Zenite* liquid crystal polymer is also used in auto ignition fuel handling, ovenware and the aerospace industry and for fuel or gas barrier structures. And regards the advertised heat up time. The vaporiser itself will heat up to 190 degrees in 45 seconds not the herb. You should wait a further 3-4 minutes for the herb to get to temperature. Just like putting a bun in the oven, certain things just take time." |

| Any chance for some videos/pics 5drive? The 3d alien one isn't doing it for me.

Took the condenser out of the spare mouthpiece today and tried that. Improved the air flow a lot. I wouldn't advise hitting it real hard with that part removed though. The moisture condenser acts as a filter and cools the vapor as well. Last edited by 5drive : 10-22-2008 at 02:11 AM. Reason: added info

| Just wanted to add to 5drives review, he’s pretty much spot on. There are some cons with this unit such as being louder than I expected and running a little hotter than I expected. I don’t think either of them are deal breakers, I think my expectation was just a bit high. Now that I think about it, the noise and heat are quite minimal considering what this unit can do. The pros include having legit vapor producing quality and I think there isn’t much of a learning curve. Just fill the chamber, fire it up, and one minute later you are vaping wherever you want. I got probably 10 good hits before the vapor started getting thin. If I could have stirred it and broken down the material a little more, I think I could have gotten more hits but with the bowl being so small, sometimes it is difficult to stir these bowls. Taste is decent, and it is pretty forgiving whether you hit it hard or slow and steady. For $200, I think this is a must buy. I would still rather hit a VRIP or SSV given the choice, but the I-inhale definitely does a satisfactory job in producing vapor. I have no buyers remorse and give this two solid thumbs up. |

| Seems like a nice portable option. The best portable option for quality vaping in a portable I think. |

Surely an SSV or other quality whip vape would be preferable for hit quality, but portability wins a lot of points... I can see this kind of thing even being useful in a party atmosphere where an SSV or whip vape can be a big problem because of the whip falling out or the power cord getting in the way.
