I haven't used a Mini Oxygen, but from all the reviews I've read on the Mini, the I-inhale is capable of bigger hits, doesn't need a 'burn in' for getting rid of the plastic smell, and needs no battery pack. If it holds up long term, and all the high tech plastics are as safe as they're supposed to be, this vape is a winner IMO. The company does have a lot of experience with gas fueled tools, so hopefully it'll be a very dependable unit.

Well I just got it and my first impression out of the box is that it looks cool, but feels cheap. That all went away as soon as I turned it on and pressed that trigger thing. I heard a nice hiss and the orange light came on. I started to draw after a couple of minutes with the herb inside and I was quite surpised, but also frustrated at the same time. It was working, but it was hard to draw in air. I found after removing the moisture condenser that it worked a little better. Mind did not come with any tubing and I am kind of upset as I have read that it works better with it. I need to find out where to buy it. Anyways. I am also having an issue filling the butane. Every time I try it spurts out. Did they send it full or something? Which nozzle do I need to fill it?

1 week and I am absolutely loving this little device. I can vape anywhere now and not worry about power or anything. I just fill up before I leave and I can have like 6 or 7 sessions easy.

The price (and quality?) of butane becomes a big issue with this vape. I picked up a can of Ronson (2.75oz) at my local chain drugstore for $4.19. That's $1.52/oz.-pretty steep. The best combination of price and quality I've found is Vector Butane at cigarextras.com. It's 5 times refined and contains no 'odor additives' or other impurities. Look for the 'butane refills' link. One can is $13.99 ($1.32/oz) but buying 4 cans takes the per oz price down to $.59/oz. 12 cans is $.44/oz and saves even more due to shipping. Buying 12 cans (vs. 4) only adds <$1.50 in shipping charges. One purchase of 12 cans saves over $20 in shipping vs. 3 separate purchases of 4 cans.

Other quality brands are Colibri, Lucienne, and King. And here's a list I found on another site-NEWPORT, CORA, CTC, COLTON, DUNHILL, DAVIDOFF, FACKELMAN, WIN, NIBO, SAROME, CALOR GAS MATCH, UNILIGHT, K2, SUPERGAS, VENTTI. Some of these I haven't been able to find, and others don't have the larger size can or quantity pricing. Vector is the best deal I've found by far, especially if you can afford a 12 can purchase. Even a 4 can purchase gives you the equivalent of almost 15 1/2 cans of the Ronson.

Do you think the quality of the butane effects the heating ability of the i-inhale? or was this purely to find the best deal?

I don't know if heating is affected. You would think it would have some effect, but it may be a small difference. I-inhale is only saying to use commercially available, high quality butane. But when the best price I can find for butane anywhere is for a 5 times refined product, it's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. I'm not going to take a chance on impurities clogging up the works and pay a higher price as well. Vector makes high quality lighters and torches, so I trust their butane, and cigarextras has the best price by far.

I have been using regular universal butane from a company called "Power". They sell 600 ml cans for like $2.00. I have been using it heavily for about 2 weeks with no ill effect. Only time will tell if this will cause issues, but so far I am happy.
