I just got one of these Vapir Oxygen Mini vaporizers yesterday, and apart from that horrible plastic taste, it tastes better than smoking bongs!!
Only thing is, when using the vape, it doesn't seem to get me high whatsoever. I've put the temp upto about 374f and have tried at different temps, higher and lower, with no joy.

It's definitely not rubbish weed, because I can get nicely blazed when smoking it in bongs, and it comes out brown, so it looks like its working, but atm it just seems like a bit of a waste of money, because its not doing anything to me

Can anyone help??/

To get rid of the plastic smell, you need to do a 'burn in'. Run it at high temp and empty for a while. The smell goes away according to Mini owners. This little vape actually works well. I know a guy who has one and he likes it a lot as a portable. You're either doing something wrong (most common mistake is to hit a vape too hard-pulling too much air through the unit too fast will lower the temp too much,and you get no vapor), or the vape is defective. Have you used a vape before?

Nope haven't ever used one, i've only ever smoked joints and bongs (mostly bongs though)
I did quite a bit of reading about these before I got one, but I'm sure im not trying to pull it too hard, I can sometimes see what im guessing is vapor.
would it help by putting the temp higher?

Well, you're not gonna see a LOT of vapor from this vape on exhale. It doesn't give hits the size of a standard home vape. Seeing vapor depends on the light source too.

If your remains are brown and you're seeing any vapor on exhale, but not getting high, I don't know what to tell you. My first vape was poor quality-a conduction unit (BC Vaporizer). But it still got me high and sold me on vaporizing.

I was setting it at 374, then I tried 380, now i'm trying it on 400 it does actually do something to me.
I assume that if it was defective it wouldn't be making the weed go brown at all?
Theres one thing I have noticed, when vaping...
The temp display will always show that the mini is getting hotter than I set it too, (eg if i set to 400 it will go up to 410 sometimes etc)
Is this normal?

Don't take what these digital displays say as the gospel truth. Find the temp range that works for you and use the display as a reference point. If a display says you're vaping at 500 degrees (way too high in actual temp), but you're getting nice vapor hits and your remains are a medium brown color, are you gonna believe a cheap digital display or the results you're getting?

Find your range from your results-the vapor you get and the color of the remains. Too much green left means you're too low or you haven't exposed all the herb to the hot air. If your remains are really dark brown to black, and the vapor harsh, you're too hot. Direct draw has a learning curve, but the Mini should give you good results when you get the hang of it.

I set mine at 350. If it's within the 375 range, it will burn the bud.

Some questions that might answer your question:

[1]How tightly are you packing the chamber with your herb?
[2]How finely ground is your herb?
[3]Are you placing the herb in after the unit has heated itself?
[4]How quickly are you drawing in the vapour?


[1]Remember, less is always more with a vapourizer, particularly with vapourizers that have small bowls or chambers. You only need to place a very small pinch in the Mini.

[2]In order to maximize the effects, be sure to grind it to oblivion. The mesh is so fine in the Mini that you are able to grind the herb into a powdery substance, which in turn creates more surface area, which subsequently allows more THC to be extracted.

[3]Be sure to place the herb in after it's heated, otherwise it will take longer to heat and you will lost some active components of your herb.

[4]The best method I have found in drawing from the Oxygen Mini is to take long, slow, smooth draws. It will feel like a cigarette or joint rolled too tight. There ought to be large amount of flavour and it ought to be difficult to discern the emitted vapour when exhaling.


If you are doing much are all of this, then it is likely time to give Vapir a call and see what can be done in terms of repairing your unit.

how many hits do you get out of a half chamber of ground up dro? And what should it look like once its done? Just bought a mini, a little difficult but i like it so far.

How big (or small) are your hits? My advice on this is...don't count hits-too variable. Your remains should be some shade of brown and very dry. It should nearly crumble into dust between your fingers.
