| First of all to give you an idea of my past vaping experience I've owned the following vapes in order of purchase; Cheap Chinese box vape that tasted funky and self destructed after a few days ![]() Vapir One that leaked vapors and was an overall piece of crap Happy Vappy while it worked it took forever to get high and you ended up with bits of plant matter in your mouth VaporStar was butane powered and fiddly and possible to burn green but quite good. VaporGenie also butane powered, less fiddly but more finesse required also possible to burn green. Volcano the best so far but still fiddly, noisy and bags really didn't float my boat and tasted average and pretty much killed my desire to vape for a long time. A health scare caused me to look at vapes again and now there's an amazing variety of high quality vapes but one stood out as simple and electric powered with a totally clean and visible all glass airpath with the only real thing that could go wrong would be dropping it. Like everything though there's a significant downside for most people which is the cost, for the XL version of the Sphere which I have (includes a thicker and larger sphere as well as a temp control) was 399 euro, but it's still a cheap price to pay for health and not much worse than my Volcano. Also the unit takes several minutes to reach temp but once reached has no problem maintaining a steady temp regardless of how fast you draw. As you'll see in the following photos the heating element (a ceramic element encased in surgical grade stainless steel suspended in a glass chamber) or what they call the injector is above the bowl so it can be left on without any heat leaching the THC from your green, you'll also notice the nice thick vapor produced; ![]() As you'll see there's no burning; ![]() Next I tested how efficient it was by measuring out .2g of ground bud (a small snappers worth) and loaded her up then proceeded to count the hits, I'm sure some of you will doubt this but 27, yes 27 thick hits later and apart from being really stoned I was left with this; ![]() As you can see there's still a few hits left in it which is as far as I'll take it so there's a little more when I extract the remains ![]() Taste wise I was blown away, I've yet to take a hit that has the typical burnt popcorn taste of other vapes after the first hit or 2. As for ease of use it doesn't get any easier, just like loading a normal bowl only instead of lighting you just slip on the injector with it's 29 gong joint and the bowl is also easily removed, cleaned and screen replaced and is a 18.8 joint so will fit in any standard 18.8 bong. If you can afford one and aren't prone to breaking glass then you can't go wrong with this unit. |
