I have both the PD and herbalAire. They're both excellent vapes and both companies provide excellent customer service. They're also very different designs and it's kind of strange that you've narrowed your choices down to these two. The PD can't be beat for efficiency and 'in home stealth'. It also has good portability unless you need to start it up from a cold start. The herbalAire is a great choice if you want both bag delivery and whip use, although I'd rate it higher for bag use. Direct draw is effective, but won't provide the big, lung busting whip hits you can get with most 'whip only' vapes. OTOH the herbalAire is very efficient for a standard sized vape. The 18 small inlet holes into the heating chamber/bowl do a great job in that area. The herbie also prefers pieces of herb, rather than ground. So both models are good ones. They just don't normally come down to an 'either or' choice for most buyers.

Friendly warning for sure. You do need to pay attention to the rules-right at the top of this section-

Nothing wrong with saying you're considering selling a vape lwien. It's offering to buy or sell that's against the rules. Your post was OK.

Well, your post could have been taken as a sneaky attempt to sell, especially following a post where someone was complaining about the backlog of PD orders, so I can see where Hookahs' warning may have included your post. Since I know you have a better route to sell a PD elsewhere, if you want, it didn't occur to me that you were offering to sell. It IS the kind of comment to avoid making here though.

I did hours of research (meaning reading online opinions) and in the end for me it came down to the Da Buddah or VaporWarez models. I liked them because the price wasn't too high, they came highly recommended by online folks as well as the guys at the shop, and at the time, I just couldn't picture myself walking around with a bag of vapor huffing on it (now that its been a few months, I thing the bag option wouldn't be bad to have either). I ended up buying Da Buddah for $160 last Feb. (based on the lack of the downward whip angle, which can sometimes cause your materials to fall down onto the heating element and burn) and I liked the aluminum construction and I couldn't be happier with it.

I also read great things about the Vapolution, which has some on-the-go usability that I didn't really want or need (if I am on the go, I want to have as little with me equipment-wise as possible). I have a cousin who's got the Volcano and loves it, but I didn't feel like dropping the 1/2 Grand on that. The Herbal Aire, V-tower were out of my price range too, for my intro model, but I heard and read good things about them too and I wan't seeing prices anywhere close to what you're talking about.

Bottom line is that you just can't go wrong with Da Buddah, VaporWarez or Vapolution for price, quality and ease of use. If the versatility is attractive, and I can see why it would be, and the price is right for you, the V-tower and Herbal Aire are excellent choices (I'd lean toward the V-tower having seen one in person at a shop and its got the auto shut off feature (I've left mine on by accident once or twice)).

Also, I agree with the advice to stay away from the super-cheap knock offs. A friend of mine went that route and the thing burned out on him almost immediately on its maiden voyage....talk about a buzz kill.

Not to muddy the waters further, but there is another German-made model that I really liked, it looks like a piece of science equipment, a small box with a digital temp. readout, and a a halogen light bulb on a long flexible "gooseneck" for a heat source and it has a beaker attached for water filtration, to boot. But it is very expensive (like Volcano expensive) and I can't remember the name of it. It is direct-draw only (no fan or bag ability), but I thought it would definitely be worth a try if $$$ were not a concern. If I can remember the name, I'll edit it in below.

I think those prices were wholesale. Not really applicable for most of us.

The herbalAire also has auto shutoff- 30 min.

The Aromed-an excellent vape. It's #1 on my list of vapes I'd like to try.

You made a good choice with the DBV. It's hard to beat for the money IMO.

As for the DBV (i.e., Da Buddah Vaporizer), I agree its hard to beat for the $$$. Never had a bit of regret for that purchase, got it with a 4 piece sharpstone grinder (with the pollen collection screen) for $200 for the pair, and that's all you would ever need for happy vaping. (These things actually pay for themselves over time because they reduce the amount of goods you need to use by 1/3 to 1/2.)

Now, "want" is a bit different than "need", and I can see wanting to add another vape to the collection in the future, so if you ever get to try out that Aromed model, let us know what you think!
