The 'cano is just about fool proof and, like Colt 45, it works every time. Nevertheless, and with due respect to Billy D, I prefer Sierra Nevada to Colt 45. It's a matter of personal preference, but the 5 Bills makes the 'cano a wonderfully engineered, eminently reliable, very cool looking, but *$*costly*$* preference, and the head effects wont be much different. So go and get the 'cano if you can and must, but do so knowing what it is and also what it isn't. Once you know that, it's just a matter of what appeals to you. Me? I went with Da Buddah, which rocks, and I just grabbed a 2nd hand Iolite...for a combined total cash layout of a couple hundred less than the Cadillac of vapes. But some folks like to drive a Caddy. My cousin has a 'cano and loves it. Whichever way you choose, happy vaping! Last edited by 2xJones : 07-10-2009 at 02:51 PM.

| There is no better, there is only preference. For me, its about my buddha but that hardly means squat. What is important is that you understand accurately as best you can and that is only by benefit of reading opposing views and from 5 drives perspective he is correct. I have had my differences with him for sure but I believe he believes that several other vaporizers are generally as good in quality and much cheaper making them the better overall buy in his opinion and many people would agree with that perspective. To me the Volcano sounds like your perfect vape and it has your mouth watering. I say scratch that itch and be done with it, im sure you will love it but do yourself a favor and do learn the different perspective of the vaporizer. Its much like a Porsche sports car, either you love it or you dont. To round the best of the best of vaporizer categories I would suggest: Volcano for best all bag vaporizer (Generally considered the most consistant vaporizer on the market and being able to alter the temperature it allows for some of the most precise vaperization to obtain your desired sensation) Extreme Vaporizer/Herbalaire for best multivape. (Quality is considered ball park of volcano and can do average whip vaporizing and the view of ball park tends to be debatable by views of costs versus benefit, generally volcano owners defend the volcano and those without say nay, decide for yourself but if you want for certain the best bag vaporizer in performance, I have to say the volcano but I also never experienced a herbalaire.) SSV/DBV for best whip vaporizer (Very thick draws, if you like power hits this is a generally considered the best box style vaporizers) Vrip Wand/Herborizer for best wand vaporizer (in my opinion capable of biggest draws but also depends on your glass setup but I believe this is capable of the very best taste and power draws.) PD/Myrtlezap for best direct draw "economy" vape. (These vaporizers will save you money and herb if you are good after vaping one stem, one stem = half of most standard box vaporizers but they perform thicker and more satisfying draws at lower amounts of weed, in my opinion if you vape two stems or more you are on par to using the standard box vaporizer amount per session but this would also be subject to each persons usage.) Iolite/Magic Flight Launch Box best portable Depending on use and area one model might appeal over the other, one use butane the other rechargeable batteries) Hope that helped and if it did, theirs one reason to like the DBV hehe. Happy Vaping!

| Volcano's are made to last. Here in California at my local medical Club they are on from 11 AM until 7 PM, seven days a week. Try that with any other brand. I was recently in Amsterdam and the better coffee shops now have vaporizers for their customers. Volcano's of course. I have had mine in daily use for well over two years, it feels and looks like new. And like Sterbo in his previous post, should the need arise I would not hesitate at all to get another one. |

If you have and like the Volcano, I say happy vaping with it, you know it will do the job quickly and reliably for a very long time and will look good doing it too, but I don't think its correct to say that other cheaper models won't do the job just as well, and for a lot of people that presents the better value proposition, kind of like choosing between the Camry and the Audi TT. Just sayin'......

| Nobody has even yet to address the main issue....the Volcano cost twice as much as does half as much?????? Does functionality not matter? Are you looking for something "cool" looking to sit on your desk and impress your friends?? LOL!! Thats what the one guy is trying to convience you guys of I guess.....the Volcano is engineerd SOOO much better that it looks really cool?? I think drive's dislike for the Volcano is VERY justified! Even if I was stinkin rich I would not waste 200 plus MORE dollars on a vape that performs half as well!! Your also forgetting about the ultimate test that PROVES superiority....take your overpriced Volcano that works no better than a HerbalAire for example..after the spent weed is done in that Volcano, take it out and put it in a HerbalAire and keep on toking?? HELLO???? That mean anything to anyone?? It should! Seems like a no brainer to me....The Volcano is WAY overpriced for what it does! There are just BETTER vapes out there that cost half as much as perform DOUBLE what the Volcano can do. Anyone that tells you different has already purchased one of these overpriced units and is probably seeing first hand now how much better a vape you could have gotten for half the money...thats called COMMON SENSE! Bottom Line: The Volcano is NOT a MAGIC vape! It is a Vape that is based on the SAME technology that every other Vape is based on. You heat the herb inside to the desired temp and inhale the vapor. Please dont belive in MAGIC! Last edited by Bullethead : 07-10-2009 at 11:29 AM. |

| Well said 2xJones! I should state also that I personaly got nothing agaisnt the Volcano other than it cost twice as much as it should for a vape that will only fill bags. My problem is when people try to justify the cost by saying things like its "transcending" or its well built (looks cool) or it does something magical to the herb that other vapes cant do....hogwash! Or its the "Best"...cause its not by far! Oh and you can run the HerbalAire 24/7 if you wanted to just as easy. It even has features like Auto-Shutoff. Another one is the Purple-Days.....can run 24/7 and only uses 8 watts which is equal to a nite-light. Its WAY more efficient than the Volcano and only cost 180.00 dollars which is reasonable. I have used them side by side and the Volcano fell way short! |

The herbalAire has an auto shut-off after 30 minutes (the Volcano Digit shuts down after 20 min.). As for being able to run non-stop for years, 7th Floor has done that with an SSV. They've had one running for about 8 years straight. Quote:

| if you go with the volcano you should definately go with the classic, spending the extra hundred for it to be digital is not worth it imo, and definately go with the easy valves, they are recyclable and customizable. Solid valve you have to clean and their advantage used to be 10 foot custom bags, but you can do that with the easy valve now too. I've owned a classic easy valve for exactly a month now and I can tell you this is the best investment I've ever made. check out my youtube vid |
