So i just got my new vaporbros in the mail. So far Ive only had two bowls with the herb it came with as i'll be picking up some bud tomorrow. The first bowl wasn't working so well, i figured it might be packed too much or i didnt grind it well enough. Second bowl was ok, i'm assuming because i ground it up abit more.

My main problem was trying to find the right temperature. I cant remember the off position of the analogue knob but i think it was 5:00, and max was at 1:30. I heard all vaporizers have different heating element and temperature knob calibrations so this might be useful information. The booklet told me to set it at 12:00 when i want to hit the vape, which I tried and found the hits abit too strong. I set it down to 9:00 and mixed the bowl around, the hits were very light. I tried 11:00 and it wasnt hitting at all anymore so i called it a day, figured i'll do it tomorrow with real bud.

Also, question on the smell, if i were to vapourise a bowl in my room while blowing it out the window, and if someone walked in say 10-15 minutes later would they smell it? Does it seep through vents? I have a bottle of ozium for this purpose, but just wanted to make sure.

Hey koolwhip420, first of all I don't actually have a vapouriser (though I plan on getting a vaporbros soon) so sorry this is a little but what did you mean when you said your vaporbros came with some herb? (surely not cannabis lol) and as for the temp setting have you allowed for the heating element to come up to temp before you started? Just a thought as like I said i'm not exactly an expert

I have a VaporBrothers non-hands free model so I'll try to share my knowledge and how I use it to get the most hits. First off, grind the marijuana as fine as you can, if you opted to get a grinding with your vaporizer, I hope you got something better than the cheap plastic one with pegs (the Lucite grinder that unfortunately I went stingy on). My friend will throw maybe about a gram or so in his grinder and grind up a lot but only use a portion of what he needs. As far as how much bud you want to put into your bowl, that's up to you. On my whip, I will fill up the bowl about 1/3 to 1/2 way up the cylinder, lightly packing it down with the stirring rod that came with it.

For temperatures, I always set it to as high as a temp for a good five minutes and really let the ceramic heating element get red. I'll usually do my packing and prepping while its getting hot. I found my optimal temperature to be around 11:00 and then after a few hits 11:30 or twelve (few hits=reduction in vapor quantity). Remember, slower draws will help more hot air pass over the plant material and faster draws will drastically reduce the heat causing the vape to work hard to keep the element hot. I can almost guarantee 20 or so good hits where I can still see vapor with my unit as long as I'm stirring the material, green stuff to the top and browner stuff to the bottom.

There's some good YouTube videos specifically on the VaporBrothers unit and how to use it, but the temp settings are really gonna be a trial and error thing. If you can, get high quality bud so that it will last, but remember not to set the temp too high. You can always increase the temperature if it's not working quite right but once you burn bud in a vape, it's done and the taste will haunt you. Good luck with you new vape.

When you pack the vaporizer, make sure you grind the herbs well, and only pack it 1/2 or 3/4 of the way full. If you do not allow some room, your air flow will be awful and your bud will hardly produce any vapor.

I'd say your best bet is around 10-11 o'clock, depending on the bud quality and personal preference. When I am smoking mids, I usually set the temperature a little bit higher (10-11). When I use headies/exotics, I use a lower temperature (9-10 o'clock analog). It also helps to stir the bowl after a few hits to make sure heating is thorough.

If you're blowing the vapor out the window/into a sploof, its likely the only thing you're going to smell is the weed in your bag. I have an ottoman/storage container (I use it as my vaporizer stash) and I've smoked a bowl in the same room as non-smokers (including a repair guy, my parents, some friends ) and nobody smelled anything!

In conclusion... VAPORIZERS!

Bluntman- The herb is definitely not bud, the best way i can describe it is kind of a minty herb, doesnt even give a lighthead or buzz. I just threw mine away.

hippie- my grinder is a 4pc chromium crusher, im planning on using the vape for kif too in the future so i thought id pick up a nice grinder. So 1/3 to 1/2 way up is pretty much where the groove is right? Thats how much i packed the herb, but i mightve pressed onto the herb abit too much. I never noticed the heating element change in color, all i can see is the blue LED light. I'll look closer next time.

I have had a vapor bro's for about a year now and have not been disapointed. Anyway, when I load my bowls instead of loading a larger bowl I like to seperate my bud into equal smaller piles. When I adjust the temperature I try to increase my draw speed accordingly. For example, I start at about 1 and take a slow/moderate draw for about ten seconds. For my second hit I adjust the temp to about around 2 and take a fast draw for the same time. For the remainder of the bowl I turn the dial all the way over and take what I consider a hard pull. Usually with good chronic this gets me about 5 to 6 visible vapor hits. Also, I recomend a lamp or something similar for lighting to be able to see your hits clearly. Stirring inbetween hits also really helps.

You do not have to grind your weed, I have cut it up, ground it up, chopped it up about every way possible. In essence, to not grind to fine or will cause airflow and get through the screen issues and a finer the grind tends to create less but thicker vapor where a course grind or chop tends to create a good vapor with more draws. Its a matter of preference and there are more aspects to it such as draw speed, temperature and the like.

Stir between 3-5 draws and keep going until you have to stir between every draw until it tapers off to getting nothing after a stir.

Eventually you will get the feel and it will be second nature. I would not judge anything by the herbs they sent you as they are different from what normally is used.
