My husband and I are thinking about getting the VAPIR vaporizer, as some of you may know it's quite spendy, around $300, around $200 if you get it off eBay.
Anyway, I figured some of you have tried this item, or own this item, and we just want to know if it's worth the money.

Hi, I recently bought a Vapir Vaporizer as my lungs cannot take the smoke, but I am having trouble being able to use it to its full extent. I can barely taste anything, and I did not get high. I followed the directions that the website gives, but to avail. If anyone has any experience with this vaporizer could you please enlighten me on how best to use it? Thanks.

I recently got the VAPIR as well, the 1st couple times I was very very frustrated with it, I followed the directions on the site and on the dvd-cd rom thinger (did you watch their little matrix video on their site?) and the damn thing wasn't getting me high and I could not see any vapir despite how much oil or water I added.
I figured the recommended temperature had to be wrong so I looked up online to see what temp it takes to vaporize thc off of marijuana and to my surprise its 397 degrees! Not the recommended 250 degrees for tobacco and mint. (you notice they never say a thing about marijuana) I should have known better considering marijuana bud is a flower, not leaf like tobacco.
So, I heated up the vapir to 397, and it worked perfect, actually I think it vaporizes slower and nicer at 370 if you are the only one smoking, or vaporizing, rather. At 397 works well if you are vaporizing with more than one person, otherwise you'll be cramming as many hits as you can to not lose all the vapor if you are by yourself.
I was afraid at that heat my bud would burn, but it didnt, it was a nice golden brown, not burnt at all.
The downside to this is is takes about 7-10 minutes to heat the vapir to this temp, whereas at 250 it only takes about 2 min. But its worth the wait because you get f*cked up! Much cleaner high, and It seemed more like a psychadelic high like shrooms (very mild shrooms) rather than the stupid, forgetful, cloudy head high smoking gives, giddiness is still very apparent though. And the high lasted for about 3 hours on one small bowl of decent quality weed which I shared with my husband...so really, about half a small bowl. Also, turn the heat off once vapor appears, and continue hitting until you dont taste the flavor anymore, then hit the heat button again, and turn off again once vapor appears. You'll waste less vapor this way. Also, since I figured out the correct temp for bud I didnt really need to add oil or water which is one less pain you wont have to deal with.
Try this temp and let me know how it worked for you. I hope this helps you some.

anyone have any comments on the vapir? I'm planning on getting a vaporizer soon. I want to save on the lungs and keep the smell down. I'm leaning towards the aromazap(cheaper with some good reviews around) or the vapir(more expensive, but has the thermostat for heat control).

Anyone used a Vapir Digital AIR-2? Does anyone know if the high is better with this device? I have heard that you do not get as stoned when you use a vaporizer, but the review of this product over at high times says you get a strong quick high.

When I get some loot I am going to buy the Vapir (sp?) and a nice sack. Anyone have the Vapir? I saw a homemade vaporizer on the boards that was quite impressive, not the lightbulb.

Just bought a Forest Green Vapir, its coming in the mail soon hopefully. Won't be able to try it for a month, yes it is going to be torture. Anyways I'll be sure to let you know my thoughts once I get down to trying it!

I went ahead and got the Vapir DLX cordless off of ebay for about 100 bucks off the website price, and it was a brand-new model. A great addition to my collection, but it is definitely not an everyday thing. I've used several different strains in it. The high is difficult to describe... it is a very "heady cerebral" high. I don't even realize I'm stoned until I start moving around or listen to music, then it hits me like a ton of bricks, but just in my head, I feel nothing different in my body. If I am smoking the exact same strain (northern lights) out of a bowl or bong, I feel it in my body and I become very mellow. That's the difference for me.

Evidently the vaporization process (if done properly) allows you to inhale ONLY the thC, since there is no combustion very few of the cannabinoids are released. I suppose that's the reason for the difference in my experience of the high.

i just checked out vapir's site and looks like they've gone down in price again. Right on!

By the sounds of it your vapir is treating you well. I have been looking at them for a long time but i think ill hold out for a more affordable unit. Until then, I'll do good old fashioned blades.
