| I'm looking to hear opinions from people who have had experience using either the classic eterra or the new eterra tulip vaporizers. I like the looks of the classic eterra and the fact that you can set it down on it's base. The tulip is cheaper and more technically advanced, apparently, but I don't like the looks as well and you have to set it on it's side. I'd like to hear some of your opinions on how well each of these work. You can find out more about the eterra vaporizers at lightwell.net ~Dizzy

| Hey guys. I am planing on buying a eterra tulip but I am concerned about the effects the heated smoke will do to my lungs. I have searched around and some places say it is very bad for your lungs/bronchial tubes and other say it is fine. If I buy an eterra, I am sure it will become my chosen method of toking and if it is going to destroy my body I will just smoke it old school bongs, pipes, etc... What info do you guys have on this? Is there anything that can be done, like inhaling with an icecube in my mouth or some crap? |

| Well, I own an Eterra Classic and it kicks butt. I haven't had any problems lungwise with it so far. Learning how to smoke with the Eterra is kind of like learning how to smoke out of a pipe with a carb. My Eterra took a little getting used to due to the fact that the heating coil is subpar compared to the Tulips. You shouldn't have any problems getting the Tulip to work well as it has a better heating coil. As far as the amount and intensity of hot air you intake, that depends on your inhalation technique. I don't really think there is an ideal way and it's not really something I can describe, because I've tried before in other threads and felt that I didn't do it justice and that I don't really know fully the best way. If the possibility of inhaling hot air is a huge issue for you, there are other vaporization methods that allow for cooler smoking. We also have a Wagner heat gun we use for vaporizing out of a glass water pipe without any water in it. The large pipe chamber allows the smoke to cool before it get's to your lungs and is very nice. It's also a visual treat to see thick clouds of vapor coming off of a bowl when you know it's not even getting combusted. The Eterra line is better for efficiency, though. ~Dizzy |

| I bought a vaporizer online after hearing people rave about it. It is the Eterra Tulip. I used it for a little while and I would get pretty stoned. But it just didn't feel like I was as stoned as if I had used a pipe or bong. Supposedly, I am smoking the most THC possible as 90-95% of it is burned when using combustable methods. And supposedly that was supposed to make me smoke that much less and conserve weed. I must say that I wasn't all that impressed. Perhaps it was the type of weed I was smoking, or perhaps it was me, I don't know. It was an odd sensation. I felt stoned but not really, it is very hard to explain. It was sort of like I felt stoned in my head but the rest of my body was normal. I could think clearly etc.. but I still "felt" high in my head. I don't know if I am making any sense. I think when I get home after finals I will give it another shot. Hopefully it works better for me this time around. Anyone else have a not so wonderful vaporizer experience? How many vaporizer "hits" does it take to get you blazed? Is the feeling any different than when you smoke from a pipe? |
