|  Steam is vapor, but usually the term is reserved for water vapor. Yeah, you could say THC is heated to its boiling point and is released as vapor. Not sure exactly what you mean by dry weed not hitting as good. Dry weed hits a little harsher since you're getting little or no water vapor with it. And since fresher weed does have some moisture, it produces more vapor, but it doesn't change the amount of active compounds you get. The water vapor just releases first and provides some smoothness to the hit.
