Default Supreme Vaporizer

I really like this approach to vaping. Convection heating, manual temperature control (an enjoyable dance), and portability, all in one - a real work of art. No working parts, for the most part, as you will not need the digital gauge eventually. The beauty is, this thing literally teaches you how to vape (well it did me). It is just so natural to use, and the design makes this so. Creates a bit of ritual at first, but you quickly adjust. Takes about 60-90 seconds to reach vapor temps, on average. I hit this right off the wooden handle, often, so the heat levels, on your lungs, is a non-issue. This hits very smoothly, arguably too smoothly, as you will waste much vapor at first, thinking you did not get anything - only to watch clouds of vapor leaving your lungs upon exhaling. Ask me some questions, I will swing by to answer -bios

Does it seem like it will last a long time? I've read other reviews on the net and they all liked it too, but at $200 it would need to last a long while. Also, does it ever need cleaning?

These will last as long as you care to use them - meaning that anyone who likes to vaporize, will likely try many methods. I like this very much as well. You can find them for less than 200, if you look in the usual places. Email the guy selling them on eBay - he is the creater, and is very approachable. After my first 1/2oz, I can list a few pros, a few cons. This unit is either the best investment (my research/opinion), or a complete waste of money (in that some people will not take to vaping in general). Vaping seems to be coming on the scene really fast, and there are only so many of these being made. You likely will not design a better, personal, DIY vaporizer than this, w/o spending many $$, and mucho time. Sadly, if money really matters, I'd say keep researching-as butane is cheap, but it does add up. (I am already designing a home use, electric heating method) -bios

Could a candle get it hot enough?

Don't quote me, since I have not tried it, but it might work. The thing is, the aluminum may disapate the heat from a candle fast enough to never rise up high enough. There are ways to releave the cost burden of butane, but in the long run, butane is cheap. You get better, and better at controlling heat, if you use it a lot. -bios

The device is very cool-looking but seems awfully expensive for what it is.

Electric vapes have thermostats that attempt to keep the air stream at a constant temperature. This one depends on what is basically a big metal heatsink to keep the correct temp for a while after being heated with a butane lighter. My electric vape does a fine job of keeping the right temp as long as I don't hit it more than once a minute and it cost $120 delivered.

The pocket size and portability are very nice but I'm wondering about one thing: how long does it take to cool down so that you can put it back in your pocket?
