Ok this what I'm asking, I have at my house a glass vase like thing kind of looks like a perfume bottle made of glass with a nob like thing that seals it up. What I'm asking is could I throw some herb in the glass dish and just hold up a solder iron to the bottom of the glass vase a receive vapors? Please I would appreciate some feedback... peace!

two things. first, a soldering iron wouldn't be hot enough to conduct electricty through the glass unless it was a really hot iron, or the glass was really thin. what you should use is a normal butane lighter, and just move it around under the weed so that you heat it gradually, but, unless the glass in the vase is pyrex, any type of heat that could vaporize the weed woudl also crack the glass. sorry. find another piece, unless you wanna possibly crack it with a lighter.

but i have something to add as well . . .
taking off from ur "soldering iron dealy"

why not fasten a bowl onto the end of the iron and heat it up the same way normal home-mades are usually made? only big difference is that u wont have a stand, ud have to hold the soldering iron non-stop, that includes the "warm-up stage" before actual vapin'
unless, u could make a base with 3x3 1/2" wooden dowels and a peice of scrap wood as the actual table (clean one of course, not too ghetto, might even design something)
to use the glass u describe of, just see how much distance u have from the top of it to the top of the wooden table held up by the dowels, then fasten the soldering iron occordingly in proportion to how much space u have from the bowl, up ur "glass-funneling dealy" to the top, so as the bowl peice is warming up towards the bottom - gives a chance for more vapor to collect that way and also so as to not crack any glass with any notions of an over-heating of the soldering iron...

Electricity has nothing to do with it. It is about conduction of heat and glass is a poor conductor of both. However, you could use glass and a heat source to vapourise a drug, and a nation of crackheads and lokers do exactly that. A popular method is to use a clear lightbulb as a chamber with a straw to inhale the vapours. Anyway, when using glass you should be ok for most glasses. If in doubt just apply a gradual heat, as it is a rapid change in temperature that will cause cracks.
