I have a vapor king vapor cannon (basically the exact same as all other box units).

I've had it for a long time, but never really use it much because I've never been sure if Im using it correctly.

There's the 1)main unit 2)hose and 3)glass tube

I know heat up the unit and then I assume hold the glass tube to the heating element and then the hose to the tube and inhale.

However, the glass tube has one end that has a narrower opening and one with a wider opening; which do I hold to the heater and which to the hose?

The way I've been using it takes about 15 minutes of constant inhaling/exhaling!!! It gets me high but is a lot of trouble. All my friends refuse to use it because of this.

I'll post some pics so you know what Im talking about. Any Help would be appreciated! The close up of the glass tube shows the narrower end.

*pictures didn't load, but anyone with a box style vap that isnt hands free should know what im talking about. I sure wish I didnt break my hands-free vape and by a non-handsfree one! Hands free are much easier to use.

alright. first you turn it all the way up and wait for it to heat up. then once it's heated up you make sure your knob is pointing to around 10 or 11 o'clock. you put pack up the wide end with about .2-.3 grams. hold it there for about 10 seconds before inhaling. then take a deep slow breath...the longer the better. this will usually get about 8 hits. make sure after about 3 or 4 hits your take it off the heater and stir it up. the brown pot is what has been smoked and is useless..the green is what can be smoked. the brown stuff can be smoked but it tastes nasty. you will know it's cashed when it starts to tast funny. and you will definately be able to tell. if not look and see if everything looks brown. happy burning.

I don't know how your unit differs from my VaporBrothers machine, but this is not how I use mine. The glass part that holds the weed and the glass "mouthpiece" are connected by a plastic hose and make up an assembly called a "whip". The hose is a pressure fit to the small end of the larger glass piece. The other end contains a screen and the weed chamber.

Fill the weed chamber 1/3 to 1/2 full. While gently inhaling to keep the weed from falling out, press the large end to the hot air source. Inhale. Continue to inhale gently when you remove the whip from the heat source until it is in a position where the weed won't fall out.

When I said "hose" I meant whip. The whip has the mouthpiece, connected to the hose, connected to the chamber (and screen) where the herb goes. This is all one part. However, mine also came with a seperate 4 inch glass cylinder as well. I always assumed this was to hold between the heating element and the whip. However, it takes a lot of work to get a gratifying hit from this.

I've tried not using the glass cylinder, but if I just pack the bowl on the whip and use that against the heating element little pieces of shake all fall on the the heating element and tar up.

My main question is If I am using the glass cylinder correctly, or do you guys not have a glass cylinder in addition to the box unit and the whip?

I know this sounds confusing and I took two pics but the site wont let me attach them...

I suspect this piece is for allowing hands-free operation. By distancing the weed from the heat source it prevents burning. It also lowers the temperature of the air stream before it hits the weed. My guess is that this is why vaping is such a slow process for you. Turn up the thermostat or stop using the 4-inch piece.


As I suggested in my last post, it is necessary to maintain some negative air pressure on the whip whenever it's in a position where the charge could fall out. I suck gently from the time I take the whip off vertical until I get it on the heat source. I suck harder to get a hit. Then I suck gently until the whip is returned to its upright position.

Here's a follow-up.

I just got a new batch and decided to give the vape a shot on it. I initially tried the using the glass cylinder. Nothing happening. Then I tossed the cylinder and stared just putting the bowl part of the whip up to it. Nothing happening. I then kept trying for about 5-10 more minutes. AND I got that slight burn in my throat; and sweet, vegetable-like taste I always get after successful vapin'!

(I always had to toy with the dial a bit...was on just past 12o'clock position; had to move it up a little then move back down).

I let the vape heat up for about 10 mins first, which I guess wasnt enough b/c it wasnt til about 5-10 minutes in I started getting hits. Even though, I have a pretty nice high right now; guess it'll just take practice to perfect my vape technique with the hands-on model I got.
