Default vaporizors

i kno that vaporizors are efficent because you get more our of your weed, but i also heard using one is better for your lungs. is this true? i was just wondering because i enjoy smoking marijuana( about once or twice a week) but im in highschool and i play few sports that consist of a lot of cardio pretty much year round. therefore i don't want to lower my lung capacity. I also heard you could somehow make one out of a lightbulb?

Basically what a vaporizor does is heat the weed to a certain temperature that releases the thc (the stuff that gets you high) and you inhale as if you where taking a hit. It doesn't burn the weed like you would if you were using a pipe or joint. I would recommend you use it if you are worried about your cardio fitness. I myself have never used one but I have friends that have. The only problem with a vaporizor is that you have to be near an outlet to plug it in. I usually smoke in the woods so I wouldn't be able to use it. I also workout and smoke weed about 3 times a week and have not noticed any drawbacks. Anyway hope this helps. Happy toking!

I see in one of your other post you're going on spring break so you must be young. You will notice the "drawbacks" when you get older. I am not anti-pot obviously, but inhaling smoke of any type into your lungs will eventually have an effect.

I saw some things online that show you how to make a homemade vaporizor out of a lightbulb, which does not require to be plugged in.
if u are interested, Marijuana Video: The Homemade Lightbulb Vaporizer Video, that will show you how to make one.

Also i have another question.. if you aren't inhaling smoke and are just inhaling like thc steam isn't like barely bad for your lungs at all if your just breathing in steam?

The answer is yes, by using a vaporizor nearly all of the negative effects are gone. Since the weed is not burning none of the chemicals from the smoke get into your lungs.

I just watched the homemade vaporizor vid. I would say make that it looks pretty cool and it's good for you. Just make sure you clean the lightbulb out well before you use it, you don't want any random chemicals from the bulb to get into the "thc steam"

Absolutely! Smoke is full of irritants and toxic combustion byproducts. The vapors contain only steam and vaporized cannabinoids.

You can make a vaporizer out of a lightbulb: How To Make A Lightbulb Vaporizer. What you end up with is near the low end of the vaporizer spectrum, a primitive conduction vaporizer. It isn't very efficient and there is no real temperature control.

Electric vaporizers are either of conduction (weed heated by contact with a hot surface) or convection (weed heated by hot air passing through it) design. All feature thermostatically controlled temperatures. Conduction designs suffer from uneven heating: the weed in contact with the hot surface gets hot enough to vaporize (or hot enough to ignite) while the layers away from the hot surface don't get hot enough. Convection vaporizers are more complicated mechanically, more expensive, and more efficient.

I use a VaporWarez convection vaporizer that I got on eBay. It cost $120 delivered. It makes my stash last twice as long, so I figure it paid for itself with the first ounce I vaped.
