Default My 2 cents

I finally got a killer vaporizer (gift ). A Steinel digital heat gun that is fitted with the same bowl, bag, and mouthpiece attachments as the Volcano. Once you figure it out it can be quite good, in my opinion. Took me about 3 or 4 sessions and extensive googling to get comfortable. I've had my share of bad experiences with the cheeser types in the past so quality matters.

I found that the high was a bit more mild and wore off a fair amount quicker but with very little burn-out effects.

What I really makes for a good treat is to vaporize first and then after a few mins to an hour, resume standard smoking procedures and Wham! You're golden....

And I agree with the other guy about how it tastes just like it smells... When you have that incredible bud, the kind you just can't get enough of the smell, then vaporizing it is a must for at least one session.

$100 isn't going to get you a decent vaporizer... Vapor Brothers start at $140 on e-bay

Don't get a bc brothers (hot plate) it's a waste of $$$ and you won't be happy

Here's how I weaned myself into vaping:

1. Read the SVT guide on the vriptech site which tells all the details.
2. Use some screens and perhaps wire on your current bong stem to make it hold the herb in place so you can use it with a heat gun.
3. Then go to Lowes and buy their $40 Wagner digital heat gun. Keep the box and receipt with the 90 day return policy.

Now try heat gunning with this setup. It's not ideal because the temperature control is poor so you'll have to use it at least a few sessions before you do it right, and you will lose a lot of vapes to sidestream smoke because the bowl doesn't seal on the heat gun. Don't worry for now... you'll be moving on to a better system later... this is about learning how vaping makes you feel. Definitely give it a chance... the first few times I tried vaping it was not very satisfying; I'd try it at least a half dozen times before making a decision.

If you find you don't like the high from vaping then return the heat gun and you're out zero dollars.

If you like it but find this particular combination less than satisfying, then you can over time buy the various pieces of a much better vaping system:

1. Vrip VCB bowl (or gotvape bowl) ($50)
2. Steinel 2310 heat gun ($160+) and return the Wagner.

You don't have to buy these items at once, you can keep moving up. But do so within the 90 days return period so you can get your money back from the Wagner heat gun. If vaping is your thing, you'll want the better heat gun.

I would definitely not buy a BC type vaporizer, and frankly I wouldn't bother with the lightbulb. There's no way of knowing whether the salt gets all the chemicals off the inside of the lightbulb... who knows what kind of crap you could be inhaling. Why bother if you already own a bong and have access to a heat gun? The forced air heating is almost universally agreed to be better than surface heating.

I was wondering if this is any good. I've heard that's it's better then an actual electric one but, I'd like to hear something like this from someone that I know is an actual person. Oh, and for the record the price isn't the only reason I'm attracted to it.

Better than electric? In what way? All electric powered vapes are certainly not the same, so to say a simple glass setup using a lighter is better than 'electric' is basically saying there is a huge fundamental problem with all vaporizers that use electricity to produce the heat. Personally, I don't buy that.

While Eagle Bill Amato was a pioneer of vaporization, the Shake and Vape pipe is still just a simple glass unit that has to depend on a lighter and the user to vaporize without burning. A lighter is going to produce very uneven heat and you'll get uneven results. It'll do the job, but not efficiently. If you want to improve your results with it, use a butane torch lighter that produces a steady flame and hold the flame a little away from the bowl. Watch for vapor and you'll have to remove the flame and then move it back to reheat. Hold the flame to the bowl too long and you'll burn your weed.

Meh, I only smoke outside, often while hiking, so an electric is not an option and being high around my friends mom when the hike is over is bad enough, possibly still smelling and having it on your breathe doesn't help. Well for that price, I guess it's still worth getting as I plan to buy a bunch of stuff of there over spring break.
