Yesterday I made a lightbulb vaporizer. I took a little weed, broke it up good, then chopped it up even more with a razor blade, then put it in the bulb and screwed the lid back on. Well the vaporizer looked dry... it had at least a couple hours to dry. But I guess it was still a little wet inside, because the weed stuck to the glass from the adhesion of the water.

Well I lit one of those tea candles that you use in pumpkins... it has a somewhat small flame. I held it about an inch over it for about a minute... after about 20-30 seconds I started seeing a light vapor forming. It didn't get too thick, you could barely tell it was in there. Well I sucked on the straw, hoping I did everything right.

It tasted horrible, and harsh... but not harsh in the same way smoke is... like it just felt like sucking warm air through a straw, but after a couple seconds I could feel it kinda... burning in my chest. Then I coughed a little. I felt something. But it mostly just made me tired.

I thought it might be because it was still wet inside... so I let it dry overnight... then tried it again today. Still... unbearable taste. Like burnt hay or something. Anyone know what could cause this? Like maybe I held it too close to the flame or for too long? Or is this just how vaporized weed tastes?

Vaporized weed is supposed to taste better.. Maybe it tastes like ****, 'cause youre using a ****ing lightbulb.

The only thing I can think of is that you're burning the weed. I've used lightbulb vaporizers in the past and the taste was still good as long as I didn't burn the weed. If you properly vaporize the weed it will end up being brown and smelling faintly like burnt popcorn.

Is it possible that you used a frosted lightbulb, because that would be really stupid. It would also account for the ****ty taste.

I agree with the above 3... vaporized weed tastes like it smells in the bag

Your bulb is either still dirty, or your buds are being burnt and not vaporized

I'd recommend a vapor brothers vaporizer instead of that lightbulb... but hey.. lightbulbs are cheap

If your in high school or college or just have access to a lab then take a test tube, clean it out, and use that instead. Its free and if you get caught then no one will care cause they are like 30 cents each.

I have a real vaporizer (Vapor Brothers). It works great and I love it. I would never use a light bulb. They don't work. They just burn the weed and waste it IMO.

I filled it up and rinsed it out with hot water three times... and smelled it, and it had no smell. I'm pretty sure it was clean. And it's a clear bulb.

But most of the bud... the side that was touching the glass turned black.

Anyway... I think it also might be the bud. It's pretty cheap weed... and I've had it for a couple weeks now so it's a little more dry than before. But the nasty taste that was in the vaporizer... I could also kinda taste it again when I was smoking it in my metal pipe, just wasn't as strong. And then I could kinda smell it in the bag, too.

And maybe the reason the taste is so strong is because when I sucked on the straw, it was pointing right against my tongue lol
