| Hey all, I've been thinking about vaporizing lately, and I thought, would it work to toss some ground weed in 350-375 degree water and put the lid on, then suck in the possibly resulting vape?

| I don't think it would work because THC doesnt evaporate. |

| Only water will evaporate. THC is not water soluble. |

| If THC were water soluble then my theory would make no sense, because then I would want to drink the water, not inhale the fumes. My theory is based on the fact that THC vaporizes at 365 degrees fahrenheit. When you use a heat gun, you're pushing hot air through the weed, and inhaling that air. What I'm proposing is that maybe immersing weed in water of that temperature will have the same effect (vaporization). You would be inhaling steam, as well, but I don't really care, I just want to know. |

| No, if THC was water soluble the THC in the water would evaporate giving you a THC vapor. Edit: I think what your trying to say is that the heat of the water will make the THC vapor bubble out of the water? If thats the case Im not really sure, but I think that o2 is needed for vaporization. |

| Yeah, that's what I was trying to say. Vapor is lighter than air, unless I'm mistaken, so it should fill the air above it. And there is air in the pot already, and at 365 degrees the water will be bubbling. I'm not saying that throwing weed into a saucepan is a good idea, I'm wondering if the principle if sound or not. |

| Boiling water in a pot doesn't go over 100c (212f) You would need a pressure cooker to get it any higher, and still keep it in a liquid state.. and trying to inhale the exhaust from a pressure cooker, would as already stated... give you 3rd degree burns to the trachea and lungs and mouth and lips... actually.. it'd probably melt your face off...

you won't get your water much hotter then 100*c/212*F while in a liquid state and THC won't vape at 212*F. | |
