| I did a search and it seems like no one here has mentioned the Herbalaire vaporizer. It is located at http://www.herbalaire.com and I've seen one or two people that have said it was even better than a volcano. It is only $250 so I am really really tempted to buy it but I don't know if it is just hype.. I currently have a VaporBrothers and my top concerns are safety (first and foremost) and after that, how much I can get from my weed (some people said volcanoes or this herbalaire make it last much longer). So, can any of you help me to decide if I should just keep my VaporBros or maybe get this one? The guy has an ebay account with like 70 feedback from people that seem to really like it. |

| This is a vape that's been around for a whille actually. I've seen it for sale on ebay... Back when the OverGrow.Com forums were running with it's tens of thousands of members--this vape was bought and used by several users. The general feeling was that it worked as advertised--but for the price a VaporBros or VDoc were a better deal. One user over at the OG.com forums had a problem with his herbalaire having bad wiring and it causing some plastic to melt. He inhaled a huge lung-full of plastic fumes and got really sick. The good part of the story is that the company took care of him and immediatley sent him a replacement that didn't seem to have the same overheating and "internal melting" problem. I haven't seen this new bag system yet...I'm very interested! I own a volcano (did 3 bags today..lol) and really would like to see how Storz & Bickel react to their pattent being stretched...I know that the Vriptech.com (copy paste URL) "Valloon" was taken off the market because the company that makes the Volcano was putting legal pressure on them. Kind of crappy...but you gotta protect your trademark...the Air 2.0 by Vapir looks like a similar device. I wonder how the taste is off this baby. It's quite a bit smaller than the Volcano, but I'm also wondering if the bags have a one-way valve like the volcano. You could have an IQ of 85 and still figure out how to use and operate the Volcano with ease...and easily save enough money on weed to pay for the volcano in a month or two! I'll have to research this vape some more...it's been ages since i've done research on the HerbalAire...good one to bring up to attention though bro! K+!

| Wow, thanks so much for the reply. That is about the biggest turnoff you could have said, about the guy inhaling a bunch of plastic. My #1 concern is safety, so do you think I should just keep my VaporBros and just save up for a volcano (which will take me forever lol). |

| I have a herbalAire. My wife likes the bag system and I had already bought a couple of other vapes (which I do use), so I wanted to save some bucks. The herbalAire is a nice unit, and you can use it with bags or as a whip unit. It uses an external pump, which has pluses and minuses (another power cord, air hose, etc., but if the pump dies down the road-it's a cheap and easy replacement with an aquarium pump). You have to keep your finger on the bag nozzle to keep the vapor in while vaping, but it's no big deal. Can't compare it to the Volcano, since I've never used one, but others have compared it favorably. If you get it directly from herbalAire or from greatvape.com, you get a 30 day return policy. You save some money buying from herbalAire via ebay, but there's no mention of the 30 day deal. I bet you could get it though if you contacted herbalAire after the auction. I've corresponded with the president of the co. and he's a nice guy and easy to work with. He sent me an experimental 3 way mouthpiece and extra bags. It's designed to fill 3 bags at once, but you need a stronger pump (they use one that pumps 8-10 liters of air per min.). I've ordered a pump but haven't received it yet. The unit has a manual dial with temp settings (I usually use it between 320-350) and has an auto turn-off feature (10 minutes). If you want to keep it on for a while for frequent bag filling, just turn it off and back on at intervals. It heats up very fast and has a 3 color LED (green for heating up to desired temp, amber means desired temp is achieved, and red means the temp is hotter than setting indicates). You can use Toppits bags and make your own bags whatever size you want. You can use ground herb or pinch off pieces. Pieces are recommended. If you don't want to fill a bag, but just take a hit or two, just use the mouthpiece extension. You can even attach a tube for even cooler hits and then presto, it's a whip unit. If you get one, I'd get the extra crucible (as in bowl) 4 pack. It cools off quickly, but it's nice to have extras for fast reloading or if you accidentally step on it. You can squeeze it back into shape, but it's never quite the same smooth fit. |
