My First Experience with the Vapezilla Classic Vaporizer

I have never used a vaporizer before, so I was very curious what the experience would be like. Having just vaped my first tubeful, I thought it would be a good time to share my initial impressions.

QUALITY
The size and shape of the vaporizer is akin to that of a CD or DVD Rom drive. It has a nice weight and “feels” worth the money. The exterior casing is jet glossy black, and it looks nice.

SETUP
Setting this up is easy enough. Just plug it in, insert the medical tubing into the glass, and wait for 3-5 minutes for it to heat up. First, you need to suck up your grinded herb through the tube. Then, you place that glass end into the apparatus, and suck away. One bowl’s worth of herb yields about 5 good 8-second pulls.

TASTE
I was disappointed by the taste of my first try. I really liked the smoked taste of my sample herb, but the vaporizer, while offering a crisper, cleaner taste in my mouth, also added an unpleasant rubber or plastic flavor. It tasted a bit like medical equipment. Perhaps, with some use, this taste goes away. Either way, I am not too bothered by it though, because the high it produces is top notch.

EFFECTS
One bowl’s worth of herb, used as a brief test of the device, ended up leaving me completely stoned. I was not planning on this. This vaporizer, with one bowl’s worth of herb, gave me the equivalent effect of 3-4 bowls smoked. I am now realizing how amazingly efficient this method is, and can already see the dollars saved.

The effect is a heady high, and I feel alert and perky. My mind is running quickly, but not uncomfortably so. My memory seems improved over the smoking method. It is a very clean, cozy, and optimistic high.

CLOSING THOUGHTS
I really like to smoke. I love the embers in my bowl. I love the tingling feeling I get in my nose when I exhale though my nostrils. I love rolling the smoke around in my mouth, and watching it swirl in the air. After trying the Classic Vapezilla for the first time, I would initially conclude that vaping is indeed very different than smoking. One does at least have something to hold with this model, and you can see the exhaled vapors. However, I miss the flavor and sensation of smoking, and realize that this is the required loss for a healthy way of ingesting pot. That being, I am so far very happy with my decision to purchase the Classic Vapezilla. I do not miss the digital display on the Super Vapezilla, and I think I would prefer the tube-sucking method over the bag method of other vaporizers. I would recommend this product to any heavy smoker who wants to go easy on their lungs, to anyone just looking for a very different experience, and to any regular smokers looking to save money in the long run.

Boy you really jumped in the deep end. Never used a vape and you go for the Vapezilla. Nice review, but you didn't say what setting you used. 10 o'clock, 12, 2? How did you arrive at the setting? Any info in the manual? Trial and error? I've found that the best way to find your vape setting is to determine the lowest setting that produces vapor and the lowest setting that produces blackened herb and settle somewhere in between, preferably on the low side for avoiding toxins. It sounds like you're interested in vaping for the health benefits vs. smoking. That's me as well, but unlike you, I hate smoking. I smoked both weed and cigarettes for many years. Got sick of it-the smell, the taste, and most of all my lungs hated it. I only smoke now when I'm testing a potential new purchase. It makes me glad to get back home to my vapes.

On the Taste review, dont worry to much about that plastic taste. The whips are just new, that plastic taste fades pretty quick. It faded on my vape, i was wondering if one could get rid of that by soaking in alcohol first of something..

It will take longer but you will need to experiment around with the temperature settings to get the best effect.

If you are using a full bowls worth, I would start it out at a very low setting for the first 10 minutes so that you can barely see the vapors, then stir it up, and turn the heat up a bit. Continue doing this until you no longer get any vapors out of it for atleast 3 hits. Using a lower setting to start saves a lot of herb.

I would recommend using much less than a bowls worth. Try 1/3 to 1/4th a bowls worth.

I vape everyday. I get real baked every day. I go through a gram of week using a vaporizer.

i went straight to 3 o'clock based on the instructions sheet that came with it. it seemed to work fine.

@NORN: i will definitely try starting low on the temp and easing up. thanks for the tip.

Do not soak vape whips in rubbing alcohol, the plastic part. I rinsed a little bit of mine out, and it hardened and turned white instead of clear not good, the alcohol reacted with the plastic. I think rinsing out with water no soap and hot water.

the wicked roots instruction sheet says:

"to clean vapor whip, fill vapor whip half full with alcohol, shake for 1 minute, and rinse thoroughly with clean water."

perhaps you just have to rinse it right away?

btw i tried lower temp settings, and 3:00 is in fact the magic number.

By whip, they mean only the glass. Check their site. Tubing is medical grade but no, you don't want to clean it with alcohol. I notice they want $2.75/ft. for it too. Pretty steep. I'd get the inner and outer diameter and check usplastics.com. They've probably got it for around $1/ft.
