Default tubing that withstands high temps

I bought some cheap tubing at Home Depot to experiment with a heat-gun bag filling setup I'm working on. It was like $5 for 5 feet, clear vinyl, 3/8" inner diameter.

I found when I subjected it to 400F temps from the heat gun it got soft and actually lost its shape a bit... it was deformed and didn't seal as tight even after cooling back down. This can't be healthy... there must be some bad outgassing going on.

I found the following plastic tubing that is rated for 400F:

http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/pro...uct%5Fid=29485

But it's more than $10 a foot and opaque black. Anyone found better/cheaper with a 400+ rating? I know most people use tubing for whip style vapes where it cools right down after a draw, so most probably don't notice problems. I'm going to be putting a continuous 400F for approx a couple of minutes, so I need something more robust.

Try this:

Although it doesn't specify it there, platinum treated silicone tubing has a temperature range of -150 F to 400 F. It's also much cheaper!

Be careful using things with silicone. Silicone vapor is an irritant.

Any food grade tubing is OK. You don't need it to withstand 400F. The vapor/air entering the tubing is nowhere near that hot. US Plastics has several types in the Tygon brand that are good up to 165F if you use a short or thin walled whip (glass piece) and want to feel safer.

You might want to try this site as well (I know it looks fake but I've gotten stuff from them with no trouble)
