You are using a light bulb vaporizer? Those aren't real vaporizers and always give off smoke. I have never, nor would I use one, so I can't give you advice on this.

Hey all, I'm new 'round here, but I understand I may be in the presence of an expert and I just have to ask especially Vicki (or anyone): any trick (or treat) to using a Vapor Buddy? It's ok, if it's a hopeless cause I can take the truth....bth, so sorry you've been sick, actually I'm kinda sick of being sick myself...I hope you're starting to feel a lot better...I am, a little...

Welcome Shirah. If you'll look at the FAQ section on VaporGenie.com, you'll find some helpful info. The VaporBuddy is a copycat of the Genie-works just the same. They both use a ceramic stone, which takes the heat from the flame and transfers it to the herb in the bowl. You want enough heat to vaporize but not enough to burn (blacken) your weed.

Thanks 5drive, there seems to be some great info there! Am I right basically in thinking that it does take awhile to master it? ;>)

There are some comments on the Genie here too. If you use the 'Search This Forum' link on the 'Vaporizers' forum, you'll find some Genie posts. It does take some practice. You're controlling not only the air flow, but the heat source as well. If you draw too much air too fast, you lower the temp. Too much heat and you burn the weed. Your vapor hits will be inconsistent at best. With practice, your portable will do the job, but if you don't need stealth and you've got access to AC, a good electric model is the way to go for a really satisfying vaping session.

I don't own a Genie. I have a Vapor Warez, Vapor Brothers, and a Voodoo (same as Vapir One). I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

5Drive, I guess you've confirmed what I suspected: that my patience may be consistently tried while learning to use Vapor Buddy, and I'm not sure if my patience threshold is up to that! Can you suggest one or two good electric models that are at the lower end of the price range?

Vicki, are any of the ones you have in the category of great value for a low price (relatively speaking)?

Anyone know anything about the Eterra Moxie, for instance?? Thanks.

I highly recommend the Vapor Warez Hands Free model. It is less than $150.00, at most places. You can obtain one for as low as $120.00 on ebay, if I'm not mistaken, or you can even get one straight from the Vapor Warez website.

It is a good vaporizer, and has a 5 year warranty. I think it is a good starter vaporizer, and some people (including myself), use box style vaporizers solely. I also believe the price is very reasonable as well. It really doesn't take much practice to use it correctly either.

Yeah I'd agree with Vicki on the ebay deal. The Vaporwarez Vaporcannon and a Proscale for $120 is hard to beat if you're looking for a good bargain. The hands free model is $20 more. Haven't tried the Moxie. Seems like a quality little vape, but it's pricey at $200. A couple of other options I'd recommend at around $150 are the Vapolution for taste and portability and the V-Tower for ease of use and stealth.
