I've had one of these hands-free numbers for about 6 weeks and have found that it works ok... it seems that temperature is relavent to the strain, quality and density of the product your using in it. I've experimented with this and found that sometimes a temp of ~400F works great... other times it's closer to 500. I realise there is a critical temperature involved for vaporisation to occur but this really does appear to fluctuate across samples. I would like to know if anyone has purchased (and where) any replacement whips for it successfully...

sounds to me like it wouldnt matter what temp you set it at, there appears to be quite the difference from the point where the thermostat is reading the temp in your vape compared to the actual temp at the bowl.

anything above 400f is too high, edging right on the border of combustion. if you have it set at 500 and its not burning your bowl, i hate to say it, but you pretty much wasted your money on a cheapo vaporizer. changing the whip will make absolutely no difference at all. ...unless for some reason you have a wand that doesnt make a good seal where it connects to the heating element. 485ish is an ideal temp to vaporize at.

About keeping it in the whip so your herb doesn't fall into the element is easy. No books required.

Simply grind/chop your herb and put a one hit amount in the whip. Pack it in lightly. Let it flow. It doesn't have to be packed in tight. A light pack and the fact that you're breathing on it will keep it in.

No no no... I need a new whip because I've dropped it on a tiled floor and the goddamn thing broke... works perfect I'm not complaining that it doesn't work because it works fine...

The Digi-Vapor totally works. I'm very nicely toasted as I write this, and it was benzene free. The design is totally flawed, but as an entry level vape it's fine. The difference is how this one works. It was quite obviously designed for the weed to fall onto the heating element. Yes it's a stupid design, but it works and it doesn't burn the weed. Here's some science for the idiots: Temperature burns the pot, not contact with a glass or metal surface. If you are burning your pot, inhaling benzene, seeing leprechauns or whatever you a@#holes are claiming it's because you've turned the temp to high. The idea behind the digi-vapor seems to be similar to the cheap-ass soldering iron/baby food jar vapes at my local headshop. The have an iron cup you SET your weed onto to let it heat. I'm sure you've all seen one. They suck, but Digi-Vapor seemed to improve on the idea with a smaller bulb. That's it. But it works and its safe. These guys are smearing a cheap product to justify buying their expensive one. That's all. Happy smoking!

Kronyk, your post is based on misconception and bad info.

Too many haven't. DOA right out of the box.

Sounds to me like you read the comments on Gotvape.com about the Digi vapor, referring to a DOA unit as putting out no heat, just a bad smell and probably benzene. It was a pretty ignorant statement by Gotvape, since you don't get benzene from smoking material unless you supply heat, about 400F for a good dose. So whether your session was benzene free or not all depends on the temp used.

It's also quite obvious that your unit is a conduction vape-also known as a hot plate vape. The weed doesn't sit on the heater. It sits on a bowl that's heated by the heating element. This type of vape doesn't even get discussed. It gets dismissed. The design, compared to convection, is like a prop plane vs. a jet. But yeah, it does work. But the convection design is the one that's taken all the flak. Too many failures and cheaply constucted from cheap parts. There are actually two Digi convection models -the under $100 wooden box and the black metal one with blue display. The wooden box has been the one with all the reported DOAs, but personally, I wouldn't trust the build on anything with Digi Vapor on it. Do we need another toxic product from China?
