So when i'm using a vape should I ever see my bud turning black? Or does that mean I have the temperature too high for how hard I suck on my vape?

Currently it only takes me a couple of hits before I"m seeing my bud turn black in one little spot. Then I stir it up and repack it and start again. But I only get about 2 hits before its turning black again.

it really shouldnt be turning black at all, it should be turning light brown... to a darker brown... try lowering the temperature but also try taking slower draws on the whip (is it a whip style one?) sometimes if its on a higher temperature, a slower draw on the whip can vape the weed more thoughourly or however you spell that worddddd, and also, with a vape its not necesary to suck in as if your life depended on it as if you were hitting a bong and trying to get all of it in your lungs fast and at once, because youre not wasting anything if you draw slowly because the weed is vaped by the air that passes through it that you are pulling through, its not being vaped just sitting there (and if it is, the temp is too high, again)

its fun to play around with different temperatures and pull speeds to see what kind of tastes/highs you can get and how long you can make a bowl last... but you DEFINATELY shouldnt be getting black weed after only a couple draws

My herbs have never turned black in my vaporizer. You definitely have the temp set too high. On my Vapor Warez, a setting at "12 noon" is good for me.

something else you can do to avoid that one little spot in the bowl getting scorched is rotating the wand as you are hitting it.

but, as mentioned, if it is getting blackened, you should turn the heat down a little bit. it will seem like youre not getting as much of a hit, you just have to trust that you are. hold it, and exhale slowly.

To add to everyone's good advice, find the vaping range on your unit. Dial it down to the lowest setting where you get vapor and go up a little from there. And with a whip vape, which I'm assuming you have, the length of time your whip is in contact with the heater tube makes a big difference. Even at the perfect temp setting, leaving your whip in contact with that hot tube raises the actual temp your weed is exposed to. And the longer your session (the longer your vape is on), the hotter that glass tube tends to get. So keep that in mind as well.
