| Hi there. I haven't posted much, although I've lurked a bit. I've been into vaping for a while now, and felt compelled to write about my latest acquisition. I first tried the BC vaporizer. Urgh. Oh well. Back to the 1-hitters. Then along came the Vapir. Well, I wasn't burning my herbs anymore. My 78-year old uncle who always chokes on the stuff (even though he's dabbled since the late 40's) took the hit without a blink. At last, real vaping without paying $800. I was able to recover a fair amount of the honey oil too. But telling when to stop was more art than science, vapor would leak everywhere, the fan was annoying, God help you if you fuck it up, say timing-wise, therefor not great for parties Moving parts are prone to wear Had to do some kind of reverse circular breathing to keep up to the forced air without a bag (not a bag fan). So next, after going through about 3 of the things, I tried the Vapor Daddy. More potent hits. No moving parts. No annoying fan. No practical time limits (or so I thought). But One day the light went on, but it stopped heating (this was last weekend). Having lurked a bit here I recognized the problem - cheap parts. A tendency to singe (probably me). Awkward angle for the whip. Not as thorough cooking. Probably me. While I had the Vapor Daddy I found an establishment with a relaxed attitude and rooms for rent furnished with Volcanos, and so satisfied my curiousity about the $800 machines. The bag thing and the noise kind of bugged me, the hits were money, flavour variable. The thing is rather large and not very portable, and the operation gets a bit technical for me - I'd lose a little vapor on each fill of the bag as my coordination deteriorated. I'd already decided to grab a Oxygen Mini for parties (review pending receipt from vaporizer.ca), but now I was stuck high and dry. So after reviewing my options at my local retail outlet I went for the v-tower because. It has a warranty. All glass, ceramic, silicon. I already tried the Vapor Daddy and the Vapir, Manufacturer is in my country, so I can make the warranty stick. It has a warranty. So I get it going as per instructions (15 minutes ramp-up first time to burn it clean). The instructions could use some picture-by-picture assembly. I damn near took off the black insulation from one end of the glass herb chamber, and put it in upside down on the heater so it looked like a pic I found on the internet. As a result I had to take the glass out with my leatherman, but I didn't care that I had hurt my fingers for some reason. I got a serious rush off the thing and the taste was sweet. Then I searched the internet some more and dug up the demo video on youtube. Why the vendor doesn't have that (or much of anything really) linked to the website is beyond me. Anyway, I've since got it straight since and I'd say I actually prefer this to the Volcano. I have yet to determine the minimum I need to get a serious buzz. Whip angle is a doddle - straight down. The storage is a little finicky - I can't keep it on plastic because the glass is so hot. But the hit is tight, as is the taste and that whole cyclone effect thing. Also you can actually watch the vapor go brown over time, so no more guessing with your nose, unless you have a cold. Also like the included pin and poutporri. And the warranty. |

| I see that like me, you made the wrong choice for your first vape-the old 'hot plate BC vape'. I managed to unload mine for $25 and felt guilty about getting that much for it. Nice review on the V-Tower. I've wondered about this vape, but it's only been available on-line through ebay and info has been hard to find. Glad you like it and decided to share your experience. This is made in Canada, correct? Can you tell us the height of the vape, from base to the top of the bowl? The glass vapor path is really nice. Top loaders have been around for awhile though. Vapolution uses top loading (although it works fine on its side as well), and the Vapor Tower from Vaporstore is even more similar to this one, except it loads into the two piece handkit, while this one has a bowl that sits on top of the vape and you attach to it. The Aromed is also similar, except with that one your heater is above the bowl (which is a nice feature). Nice warranty. Shouldn't have any problems unless the user breaks something (no coverage there) or the heater dies. Ceramic heaters these days are built to last. Of course, repair (in or out of warranty) or replacement bowls and connectors will only be possible/available as long as the maker is in business, so I see that as the only risk for buying this vape and using it long term. As for the guy in the video (Mr. V-Tower?) stating that it works unlike any other vaporizer, that's just not true. It's a convection vape using a whip, and its uniqueness is only in details like the glass bowl and connector, etc. He also says it "blows away" vapes like herbalAire (apples and oranges) and others. He has no basis for statements like that. This vape may well be better in design and execution than most whip vapes, but vapor is vapor. Taste and vapor density are better with a whip design, but a bag design has its own advantages and can't really be compared to a whip vape. It's most a matter of which kind of vapor delivery you prefer. I must admit it looks like a good, solid design, and at $159 with free shipping, the price is right. I would like to know what a replacement/spare bowl and connector cost, and I intend to ask the seller. I'll post the prices when I find out. Really appreciate the review djelimon. Like I said, I've been wanting some info on this vape. You've got me interested now. I just may have to give this a try.

| That sounds very cool, I am in the market for my first vape soon. This is going high on my list as to what I am going to get.

I feel the same it looks really nice. Something about it I just really like. The website has one with 3 rubber tip feet that I like better than the big base even though the base may be more funtional. This is one with a few more reviews could be at the top of my list if I bought a electric unit.

| One feature I've never seen on another vape is that the charge swirls around in the air stream while you're sucking on the whip. That should eliminate the need to stir the charge to make sure that all the particles get into the hot air stream. Is this unique to the V-Tower or are there other vapes that have it?

| Hey guys, glad to add to the pool. The height is 7 inches, add 1.5 inches with the bowl in place. Quote:
I didn't really pay any attention to the hype on the video, it's to be expected when reading the vendor's manual, be it vapes, computers, or pizza. I thought it was good as a technical reference. One thing I find is when you get the amount right and the breathing right, you can get the herbs floating in a cloud in mid-air, slowly turning browner all over - the "tornado bowl" mentioned on the web site. You get every last hit tasting clean, all brown, even, no singing. If this design has competition, so much the better, I'm not against the free market. But for me it's my first time encountering it, so I'm a bit ston/ked. I really do think it beats the Volcanos I've used before. Yeah, the manufacturer is in Canada. | |

I'm not sure how (or how well) that works, since air flow is determined only by the user's pull on the whip. And the the heavier the load in the bowl, the more resistance there would be to movement by air. The guy in the video said about a half gram in the bowl I got a response from the seller on parts pricing. Cyclone bowl- $9.95 glass adapter- 6.90 Potpourri bowl- 7.50 Mouthpiece- 3.25 Stirrin tool- 1.50 (2.99 for all glass) Whip kit (includes all but PP bowl but plus tubing)- $22.50 These are decent prices IMO. | I like the stainless steel housing it'd be very easy to keep clean. The fact that the herbs can float around is a very nice feature and I'm sure with practice can be really easy to use, and I just don't see how it could be anythig but a nice design bonus since thats what you do when you stir(mix it up), that feature could wind up as the signature of this vaporizer, I've always thought automatic stiring was the next step weather this one does it well or not. The large bowl size is another big plus to me, I have 2 different size bowls that my vaporizer uses and the X-Large bowl is so much nicer to use. The small bowl I have produces 5 great draws - 2 decent and 2 micros to finish it off, the big bowl is 10 great draws and about 6 more varrying after that, there is just no comparision the Big Bowl Kicks Ass. If this unit is designed to have a little larger bowl than most then thats another feather in it's cap for me. I haven't even been close to getting a electric unit since I love my VaporStars but this thing has my finger itching. Also the Potpourri bowl is a nice dual use cover for the smell and I bet works ratther well with good Potpourri. I just wish the price was under $150 with all the goodies but compared to some other its still very reasonable. |

| Okay, there's an update to this story. On Monday I got my mini-Oxygen. Today I dropped my V-Tower tornado bowl. It crumbled which I was warned about. So I phoned the retailer and they said they don't sell replacement parts, go see the vendor. So I emailed the vendor. Tried the 1-888 number of course, but there's just an answering machine. We'll see what happens. I mean, a warranty isn't much use if the uncovered part which makes it all work isn't replaceable and easily breaks. I'll add to the Mini-Oxygen review after more evaluation. |
