Has anyone out there ever seen one of these? If so can they give me some info - ie do you literally just need this and herb to vaporize? Or can you use this in conjunction with bongs and other glass pieces etc? If it is basically just a lighter why the f is it $140!!!!! Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

Sort of. It's not even a lighter.
Basically it 's a heating element. You could use this with any bowl to vaporize your weed. Use this instead of a lighter and basically vape instead of smoke.

Because some guy is willing to pay a lot of money for a gadget that his buddy doesn't have? You can buy a VaporWarez vaporizer for less money. It might have some value if it didn't need to be plugged in.

The Phedor is an interesting product. While overpriced and not all that user friendly,
it has consistently gotten rave reviews by many of those who use it.
(Note that in saying that, I am factoring in the spamming we see on the net by pro "wicked roots" affiliates).

It is not a vaporizer per se. It is used by smokers looking for:
1-a way to smoke w/o combusting the material at a higher than necessary temperature.
2- an alternative to the nastiness of butane, sulfur from wood matches etc.
3- extreme portability.

Personally, I don't think it's worth the coin. I am currently working on some alternatives but only time will tell.

Hmmm, it seems like a nice idea, but way overpriced for the market it's targeting.

If you plan on spending $170 (including shipping, etc) why not JUST buy a mid priced vaporizer in the first place? Hell, even the Vaporizer Genie* (basically a ceramic pipe style) is only $60-80 and you can use a regular lighter to achieve the same effects without burning or tasting butane.

There's always someone that wants to cash in - trick is, use yer head, think think think before you do anything! Just because the idea is new, doesn't mean its always better...

you know what you could buy that is bassically the exact same thing?
a Heat gun!! you can get those for way cheaper than that, and you can get variable temperature ones too. pretty sure they make cordless heat guns as well, scratch that im positive they do we have one at my 'job'. they arent as small as that thing, but theyre cheaper.
