| Hello, My mother-in-law has just gone through her first bout of radiation for breast cancer, she is able to use marijuana and has an Herbalaire vaporizer - question: how many times can you use a "dose" of marijuana in this device? question: how do you know when the "dose" is used up? thanks very much! | I've been using the herbalAire for more than a year, so I can speak from experience. First, I think it's worth repeating that the company recommends using small pieces of herb in the unit, instead of ground herb. Ground herb makes for more of a mess in cleaning the unit, you can get small particles up into the bag, and the thing is just so efficient at cooking small pieces that grinding isn't necessary. How much you load at one time is personal preference, but I think a smaller load is a little more efficient in any vape. The more you load, the more you have to keeping hitting it and stirring it to make sure it's all been exposed to the hot air flow. I usually load .05g-.1g (of course you do need a very accurate scale to even measure in that range) and fill two bags. The 1st bag will have most of the vapor. You could do a 3rd bag but you won't get much with that small a load. One of the pluses with this vape is that it's easy and inexpensive to make and use multiple bags. When a bag is full, I stop the pump, remove the bag and put on another. At 350-375 the load will never burn. I save the remains for cooking. You could smoke the leftovers and get a few remaining cannibinoids, but I don't, since my main reason for vaping is to avoid smoking. As for when a dose is done, you can tell from the bag that the vapor is just not there anymore. If a 2nd bag has fairly thick vapor, you can do a 3rd, but if bag #2 is thin, I never bother with the 3rd. If you use a larger load, you'll get more bags, but I find that bag #1 always gets the bulk of the vapor, and if the weed is good, you may need help to vape the rest. ![]()
