Just got a new vaporizer, my first one. It's a "digi vapor VP100". It's a wooden box & whip style vaporizer. I wanted to go with something more, but this was already stretching the budget. I'm stuck, I've got no idea what temp to set the thing at for bud. any ideas?

You can't really go by the temp on your display. The displays on the Digi Vapor and other cheap digital boxes aren't capable of showing the temp in the heating chamber. Midpoint on your dial is usually a good place to start. If your leftovers are brown and crispy you're good. If they're black you're too hot. You can play around with it and find your minimum and maximum effective settings. The length of time your whip is in contact with the heater tube and how hard you hit it are also big factors in your vaping temp,

I hope you got some kind of guarantee from your seller. There's no factory warranty on these and they've been known to fail, sometimes right out of the box. The quality of the internal components and the way they're put together is questionable too. I hate to bad mouth your new vape, but you get what you pay for, and with this model, sometimes less. If I were you I'd save up for a Vaporcannon. $120 gets you a nice vape with a 5 year warranty. If it makes you feel any better my first vape was not a good one either.

1st round was okay. used about enough for a bowl, worked pretty well. Can't help but feel it could be better. Feel like we're still getting our bearings and technique. varied the temp quite a bit, from noon on the dial until about 4 o'clock.

You'll probably spend the first week or so figuring out what the optimal temperature setting is and what the best technique is. You'll get the hang of it soon, I promise. Just keep in mind that with a whip style vaporizer, if you pull too hard when you inhale you'll lower the temperature, possibly below the point of vaporization. Generally, the higher the temp, the harder you'll be able to draw and get some vapor. Also, at higher temperatures you'll be getting more than just the THC, it'll also be some more of the cannabinoids that you get when you smoke. Some of these may cause a more body-type high, rather than the head-high that is generally associated with vaporizing.

Just take some time to get to know your new vape. Whip-style vapes have a bit of a learning curve, because every model is different. But once you get to know exactly how to use it, you'll be golden!

Hey thanks for the Info on this vape, I just won a new vp 100 on ebay for 45$ new. I have a quistion on this older post. What was the digital temp you set it at to get a nice burn. also is your vape still working the same or at all after all this time? Should be hear within the week.
