"(Important Note: There is NO Teflon in our product, unlike Herbalaire)" This is what I don't like about this guy. His advertising is extremely negative. He tries to scare you away from other vaporizers. From his ebay auction on the V-Tower- "fact is most vaporizers are very low quality, made offshore as cheaply as possible with only high profits in mind." True enough about some vapes, mostly the cheap box units sold on ebay, but "most vaporizers"? Bullshit.

| While the V-Tower screens are workable they can be a nuisance. I think a homemade cure is to go to a arts and craft store and get some etching cream. Place a nice 1/16th ring inside of the bowl, it's take a little patience and skill but once done the screens should stick very easily to the newly etched portion of the bowl. I don't really care as I'm done with electric units. I got my 5 Vaporstars in and couldn't be happier. ![]()

Well, I am curious myself about the teflon thing, although my real problem with Herbalaire is that it cuts out after 1/2 hour (although apparently it's easily reset). I've been comparing vapes at this smoking lounge I know of. There's a vaporstar there too, I may try that if I can get over my flame prejudice. Yeah the guy mentions other products, but really I don't care about that, so much as that he gives me free extras every time I order something.

Neither teflon or aluminum is exposed to high enough temps (not even close) in a vaporizer to be a health issue. Both can be a problem in high temp cooking, and people who want to sell/push their own product, or users who want to validate their vape purchase, sometime use the high temp issue and present it as a problem when these materials are used in a vaporizer. I've seen the same thing happen with whip tubing. 'Our tubing is high quality, food grade product but xyz vaporizer uses tubing that is unsafe for use in a vaporizer'. In reality, all vape makers use food grade tubing. It's inexpensive to the point where there's no reason to use unsafe tubing. If I were buying a cheap, made in China vape off ebay I might buy my tubing from another source, but any name brand vape will have quality tubing. Scare tactics will continue to be a sales tool for some vape makers, at least for awhile. It's the nature of the product and the current market.

Yeah, I'm not really convinced teflon is an issue either. I just wish the guy running the vape lounge would stock up on v-tower guy's stuff so I could do a side-by-side comparison. I don't really have cognitive dissonance issues around buying stuff. Hell, I've switched vape brands 3 times already. I'm just finding ways to resist the temptation to buy a digital volcano lol Last edited by djelimon : 01-04-2008 at 03:04 PM.

I have bought one of these "extreme vapourizers" overall i was very impressed with it there were are few concerns though, In the video it led me to believe the batterypack was included but after buying it i did not see a batterypack in there, after watching the included dvd instructions they said is was a nice upgrade but they were sold sepertly. I was dissapointed because that was the main feature i bough it for. My only other concern was that on my first use i broke the mouthpiece of the bag ( Luckily an extra was include) where it connects to the tubing is very stick the first few uses and i have read in another forum people having the problem. It does heat up and the digital thermostat keeps the temp within 2-4 degrees.

The Extreme is selling very well on ebay-mostly 'buy it nows' at $299. Patient bidders are paying $280. No more V-Towers for sale, but that's still all you see on the bare bones website. The Youtube vid does make it look like the battery pack is included. The ebay auction clearly doesn't list it though.

Oh man, first I was leaning towards an HerbalAire/Volcano, then I thought SSV/Buddha for the simplicity and price. But the problem with those whip vapes is that it might be inconvenient for groups of 4 or more people. The HerbalAire seems to have the same basic functionality, but does have the extra air pump piece to worry about which is slow (that may have been upgraded by now though). Any thoughts on the usability/quality of vapor from this unit vs. other units would be appreciated...including air seal quality of whip, usefulness of fan speeds, etc. It would be interesting to see if the HerbalAire could get vape from post-VTower-ABV like it did from a volcano. Damn, I think I need to make a trip to that Toronto lounge and try all them all. Last edited by dabu : 02-03-2008 at 08:24 PM. Reason: Spelling
