I stopped smoking and starting vaping about a month ago using the Vaporwarez 3G which I totally love. However since then my throat has been dry, sore, sensitive. Could this be from vaporizing?

I vaporize about one or two standard sized bowls two or three times per day. I am definitely an everyday user. Maybe that's too much...I switched from smoking to vaping because I wanted to be healthier. My intake hasn't changed, only my method of use.

Anyway, has anyone found that vaporizers are harsh on the throat? If so, is this unhealthy or just unpleasant? Believe it or not I'm a bit of a health nut and worry about this stuff. I would quit but I just love my herb too much.

Hmmm, this is relevant to my interests...one of the reasons I'm switching to vaping is because smoking is not kind on my singing voice. Anyone have a good answer to this?

Try dialing back on the temp a bit, and use smaller amounts per load.

Vaporizing does tend to give you a bit of the 'dry throat', but a typical box vape like the warez is not a big offender. Bag delivery is usually a little worse on the throat because you're getting a higher volume of air. As djelimon said, loading a smaller amount should help. I like a small load because it requires fewer hits and little or no stirring to finish it off. With larger amounts, you have to keep hitting it (and stirring) to make sure you've vaporized the entire load. When you continue to hit the same load, you're vaping weed that's already been drained and that makes for harsher, dry hits. A temp setting that's too high will also contribute to harshness. A little water between hits would also be helpful.

well shoot people, think about what is happening. you are passing warmed air through your throat, repeatedly when taking hits. of course this will dry your throat out, and all you have to do to remedy the matter is take a drink of something.

taking a hit, then a drink of juice(or a bit of anything really fruity), then blowing the hit out will not only take care of the parched throat, it will also make your taste buds go crazy(in a good way).

It could be from vaporizing at too high a temperature setting. More, milder hits are much easier on your throat and lungs than fewer, denser ones.

What's a "standard sized bowl"? If you are filling up the chamber, it's definitely too much. I never put much more than 1/4 inch of weed on top of the screen.

Most people find that they need half as much weed to achieve the same effect, vaping v. smoking.

Standard size is what size piece it is...I only fill it up 1/4 of the way as directed so I know I'm using the right amount.

I am going to try turning the heat down...do you have to exhale visible vapor to know that it is working? When I turned it to 12 o'clock I stopped getting visible hits. But I've heard people say they use it at 12 o'clock just fine.

As far as the amount of weed, maybe I am not paying attention to my high. I probably use more than is necessary because I enjoy my vaping sessions and I am probably subconsciously stretching them out by packing another one.

I'll try your suggestions -- lower temp, less weed. Thanks!

You should get visible vapor with at least the first few hits off of a load. You will still get useful quantities of THC for a few hits after the exhale is invisible.

These devices aren't calibrated, so you have to feel your way around until you hit the right temperature. If you don't get visible vapor on a new load at 12, turn it up a bit at a time until you do.
