Awesome. I'll try to do a comparison of the two vapes when my Da Buddha arrives even though I know that comparing Bags to Whips is like apples and oranges.

Be sure to take deep exhales before each hit... I wasn't doing this when I was smoking so it took me a while to figure out I could get much larger hits through the hose.

When I first got mine I thought it had to be at 2-3 but now I keep it at 1-2 the whole time and I can get a good 15 hits off a 1/2" of very loosely packed herb. Da Buddha really does preserve your bud nicely once you get used to it. And if it's thicker hits you're lookin for pack the herb a little bit tighter in the wand so you almost have to force the air through the bud with your inhale... this really works well but be sure to stir it after each hit if you do it like this.

Da Buddha has arrived and I must I am impressed. My first glimpse was of the multi colored carrying pouch. Heavy duty to say the least. Da Buddha itself is very well constructed. Solid and hefty, it stays where you place it. No issues with the element being off kilter, and all of the accessories I ordered came securely wrapped.

I won't bore you with my settings as I merely followed the directions given in many of the previous posts in this thread. I burned about as much herb my first use as I would have using a standard pipe. I'm not too dismayed by this because I know this is the breaking period and some fine tuning will be required.

The effects were noticeably different than when using a pipe. A much "deeper", and "cerebral" high. Not to mention it lasted about 5 hours. Even after a ravenous munchie binge, I was still feeling the effects. Very pleasant.

As far as as the herb is concerned. I filled three wands, shared by four people. After the first two, the herb was a nice tan/brown color before we stopped getting any more vapes. On the last round, I cranked monsieur DB up to ~75%. This resulted in noticeably more "smoke" being visible in the hose. Also, instead of the 7-9 hits from the previous two we got 10-12. But the herb was blackened.

Should the herb be black/ashes after a session?

Should you be able to see the vapes going through the tube?

Black means vaped to the max/overcooked. You're getting a lot of nasty stuff in your vapor at this point. Ashes? You're no longer vaporizing if you're getting ashes. You're smoking.

I always go until I get nothing out of it and its a mere brown/black powder. The color of the vaped material can be brown to black not just soley due to temperature but also due to type of plant product. Some stuff I see is just brown when fully vaped and some others are black. Never ash unless you blew it in the heater and is smoked and/or caught fire, believe me you would know hehe.

anybody know what to do when the glass piece in the vape gets really loose? one of my friends was pressing way too hard... didn't break, just moves around a lot now.

Do you mean the heater cover doesn't hold on to the metal cylinder anymore? If the cover isn't broken or cracked you should be able to just press it back on as far as you wish. They are meant to be replaced easily. If the problem is more complicated than I'm making it out to be than I guess it's time to contact 7th Floor and let us know what they say.

If you're a Volcano user wanting to buy a whip Vape, the Da Buddha or SSV won't disappoint. I had a Volcano but my cat and Topitt bags wasn't a good combo. Sold the Volcano and bought a SSV, some shmuck stole it from my car, so I bought a cheap box vape, that caught on fire, then I bought a Da Buddha. The Da Buddha in my opinion is probably the best in class vaporizer for the buck. Naturally the Volcano is the king, but not everyone wants to shell out five hundred clams, or for some like me, a cat that must kill any balloon in his domain.

PS, If you decide you want the Da Buddha, if your the kind of guy that doesn't need an artsy fartsy wand, and just want a great no frills solid unit, the Da Buddha won't disappoint.

PS, If your a Volcano user that hasn't used a lung powered before, use the Da Buddhas plain jane clear whip to its fullest. Just buy a $10 light like this, having a nice on board semi bright LED shing through the clear wand, it's a nice feature to be able to see the vapor stream, even in the dark.
