You just delete the http:// (and www, if used). They've relaxed the direct linking to commercial sites rule though. Links for pertinent info are OK, but no 'site spamming'.

I wanted to say hello... first time posted here.
Back in the 80's I tried homemade vapes that just didn't work well. I even built one from the plans in an 80's High Times magazine. Well, technology in the recent years has finally made a decent vape affordable & that can produce good results. I am the proud to say that I am the owner of a new black Da Buddha!
While there were some bumps in the road on the way to getting it, overall I am satisfied with the whole experience. I originally bought one of the e-bay specials. It was a black box digi Vaporite. It worked as well as Da Buddha, but it would not hold the temperature at the setting I choose. It would fluctuate by 30 degrees. So the seller, which by the way provided first class customer service, replaced it no problem. The second one I received had other issues besides the same problem as the original one where it would not maintain the set temp. When I initially turned it up to burn off any production oils, etc., it started smoking and it smelled like a tire burning! I looked down the glass heating tube and I could see a rubber "O" ring that was pinched in between the heater & the glass. So back it goes. The company was nice enough to refund my money even though their posted policy was to give only credit. So on to the new vape. I had been following several post about the 7th floor products. Da Buddha seemed to fit my needs perfectly. The shipping was a little strange. I opted for the USPS priority shipping, so that is 2 to 3 days. It made it to my city in 3 days, then spent 3 more days in "limbo" before I got it. Not sure what happened there. It came in a box that was way to small so it was bulging and beat up. 7th floor should be packing these better. I open it up and see the temp knob is bent... not a good sign. I plug it in and it doesn't work! So I call them up. 7th Floor says I got a bad rheostat (what they call a dimmer). My question is, since soooo many folks have had the "bad dimmer" why is it still used? There should be a better quality one used. It is apparent that there is a problem with them... stop using them. Meanwhile, while I am talking to him, I get the heater to work by fiddling with the dimmer. So they offer to have me ship it back, and they would pay to ship the repaired unit back to me. Now I am looking at 2 more weeks! I mention this and he asked me if I am comfortable doing some electrical work. I am good with that so I say yes. He lets me know that they will be sending me the new dimmer for me to instal. I'm OK with that. I see they have dropped it in the mail, and I am expecting it sometime this week.
My review of Da Buddha is a 8 out of 10. It would have been a 10 with better packing & a non broken switch. It looks great, works well, it's solid and I would recommend their products to my friends. I am attributing the screw ups I had and others are reporting to a young, but growing company. If they can nail down the mistakes and correct them for future sales, I see a bright future for 7th Floor!

Sorry to hear about your shipping issue. When I got my Buddha it was packed well and without issue, sounds like bad luck.

Happy vaping.

I'm surprised as well. Did it not come in a stuffed bag or did they stop doing that?

I got the replacement rheostat today and installed it. Working perfectly again.

As far as the shipping issues, yes it did come in the old style SSV bag, but the box used was much smaller than the bag, so it was bulging. And we all know how packages get handled in transit. The knob on the front was actually bent. Now I don't know if that was from shipping, or it happened before it was packed. With how thick that bag is, my guess would be it got bumped prior to shipping.

I also had a few notes to make about my new DBV...

  • The replacement rheostat pot I received was 500K vs. the 600K one that was in it originally. It changed the location set point of the knob. I used to vape at the 11:00 position. Now I set it to the 1:00 position so it is hot enough.
  • The optional colored glass heater cover I purchased with it came looking nothing like the pictured ones. I understand each one is hand made and unique. The issue I have with mine is that there is a little dot of color on the very top of it, maybe a 10th of the color show in the photo... thats it. The pictured ones have color all over the 90 degree knob. See photo.

Aside from a few minor issues, I love this vape!

The 4 covers shown in the pic aren't standard. They cost $5 more for the extra color. If you paid $27.99 and didn't get color, they screwed up.

As stated in the portion of my post you quoted, I did specify that it was optional, and yes, I did pay the additional $5. I also stated that while it did have color, it was only a dot of about a 1/4 inch in size. I had hoped for something similar to the sample photo. No biggie as it was only five bucks. If I had paid a lot for it, I would be upset.
If I was ordering again, I would ask them to describe the coloring before I bought it. You don't get to pick them like much of the other custom glass accessories.
I posted this info to assist future buyers in their purchases.

OK I gotcha. Should have read your post twice I guess. Yeah, you got shorted in the color dept. Should have gotten about a $3 rebate on that.
