| Da Budha is amazing . I have been learning new ways to use it and to really find my "sweet spot" I am still working on it (Mon-Fri smoking every night). The first night I got stoned off my ass. But last night (my 5th time to use it) I really feel like I am figuring out ways to really maximize it. I love this thing. best 150 I have spent in a long time. I save so much herb vaping vs. smoking. Right now I can do .2 grams and can get my wife and I STONED. I can't imagine doing 1 gram by myself right now but I will def have to try it. After vaping for 1 week I can safely say that smoking is never an option again. |

| the reason i used alcohol is because thc is alcohol soluble. gatorade/etc wouldnt really work for trapping the thc, as you would need a liquid with a high enough alcohol or fat content.

| So did you drink the alcohol? If so, what were the effects of it?

| Hey guys, been reading up on everyone's comments, and I had to report back that I bought the DB. It arrived Friday. As I said earlier, this is my first vape, and I don't believe I have ever vaped before, tho' been smoking for 32 years. I think I will like it, but I need to get the hang of it. I've found it hard to vape a very small amount like a one-hitter. But when I add a little more, still less than the average small pipe bowl, it definitely works. In my case, it actually means I'm using a little more weed than before. No real worries about that, I'm a home horticulturalist. Operating the unit is very easy. The wand fits easily to the glass heater because the heater "mouth" comes all the way practically flush into the hole in the aluminum housing, so very easy to access. This is a great machine for solo or 2-person 'sessions'. It's pretty sleek and has a high-end industrial look, so should blend in to a variety of environments -- not even noticeable up on my file cabinet in plain site among CD racks, misc containers, etc. It came with a very long 10' grounded (3-prong) electric cord, very pleasantly surprised about that (most small appliances are 6' or less). It allows me to place the unit where I want and the cord reaches the nearest outlet no problem. I'm not missing the SSV's mouth-blown glass pieces at all. Might be cool-looking and all, but I'd rather have the $80-90 I saved. In fact, it's more inconspicuous this way. I'm still having trouble finding the right temp setting. Yeah, I turn it all the way up for a coupla minutes then to the 2 o'clock position or so. Sometimes I do that and feel absolutely nothing. I try drawing lighter and harder, and inconsistent on what works best. I've ended up turning the temp up nearly all the way to get a hit. I've been wondering if my model is defective and isn't heating up right. But this morning I think I hit the sweet spot, worked really well at the 2 o'clock position and a light to moderate draw. Maybe the ceramic heating element needs to be used a bit before it finds its "sweet spot"? When I get a good hit I really can tell. First, the taste is very light but is pure sweet hash, not at all like smoke (if I don't get a good hit I don't taste anything). Second, the expansion in my lungs tells me to buckle my seat belt. I was concerned that I would need to attach the tube to a bong or ice chamber, which I really didn't want to have to do, and I'm pleasantly surprised that the draw straight from the tube is not the least bit warm. No effect in my throat or otherwise. I'm sure an attachment could make it even nicer, but I find no reason to be worried about hot air draws. The high is definitely different. For me, compared to smoking, it is both more clear/cerebral and potentially at the same time more sleep-inducing. I've found that the high can be so clean and cerebral that there are moments where I don't feel high at all, then the next moment I realize I'm blitzed and my mind is flying. Can be trippy. Very little couchlock, so it's almost like smoking a pure sativa. I also vaped up a bunch in one sitting the other night, just to see what that would be like, and while I still had the clarity of the cerebral high I also had a big punch to the head, almost like a quaalude, where if I closed my eyes and relaxed a tad I found my head falling forward like I couldn't stay awake. Last comment is that I have not actually smoked now for about 4 days, and I already feel less inclination to my constant minor cough. Looking forward to being stoned and healthier for a long time. Thanks all for your advice and info, helped me a great deal in making this decision. Last edited by toastybiz : 01-28-2008 at 04:55 PM. |

| Ordered Da Buddha today and they shipped it today. UPS says to expect in 3 days. I made an error when I ordered it and called them up and it was taken care of with no problems. I feel like a kid 3 days before xmas hehe. I will post a review once I get it. |

Received Da Buddha and My First Vape Experience. First thing first, I was very excited to be getting this and I watched anxiously as the UPS Delivery service delivered my precious product from the factory. I must say, UPS was very efficient and everything arrived on time and to make it even more leave it beaverish the UPS guy was smiling when he delivered it. hehe. Ok, so I now have my little box and me and my sister scuttle up to my room and open the box with some quick knife moves that would make Sweeney Todd proud. Popcorn packaging as far as the eye can see. I felt like the dad on a Christmas story searching for his major award and I even said it could be a bowling alley hehe. Slowly I unpack everything and my sister is reading the manual. We put everything together, no help from the manual as what was apparent about connecting the tubing was not so apparent to us morons but a quick trip to Da Buddha website and looked at the tubing via pic set us straight. However on the flip side we did turn Da Buddha on as soon as we got it as it needs to burn for 10mins to burn off the installation glues and whatnot, as stated on the manual so that was good. Back to the program, we load it up and I suck the plant material through the wand and onto the screen like I know what I am doing, Thanks TokinGLX and we are off. We evenly and loosely cut up the plant material, we did not get a grinder as we have heard that was messy and not really worth it in comparison to cutting it up small and even.First we try a little bit and were thinking ok, has potential but keep in mind were still not sure if were even doing this right and by all definition we are noobs to this hehe. We blow very little out but hey, we only put a little in. Second, we dial up around 3 o'clock fill it up about a 1/3 full as the manual says to not go higher and as I understand it finely ground will hurt the air flow more verses finely chopped. Now we are getting lots of very tasty vapor. At this point we get about 4 good hits apiece and two small ones per 1/3 wand full and medium quality plant material. We stir each time between tokes. We had our slight learning curve on hitting and experimented will all kinds of ways from very long slow hits to quick power type hits, just to know for ourselves what it felt like and to give us a degree of experience with it and we decided that we liked taking in a small initial hit, letting the air build for a second or so and then breathing that vapor in and doing it again, it tends to make for two very nice strong hits rolled into one and the taste is fantastic, its as if Willy Wonka made my plant material seem very tasty in a whole a new way. We are very proud of our little purchase and the Da Buddha has indeed enlightened us… If anyone has any suggestions or ideas or even criticism or whatnot please speak your mind as it was the community that had given us the confidence to try this type of product and it is with this in mind that we share with you all our first vape experience and a wonderful review of Da Buddha. I have a new best friend… The Da Buddha wand does not get hot, everything went together once we figured it out and it just looks cool. We got no add ons and is just the basic of everthing and couldnt be happier. I have no experience with any other vape but I am very impressed and im not sure if I would actually consider another type of vape that didnt bring something substantial to what I already have now. Our expectations where satisfied and that does say alot. I highly recommend Da Buddha and Thanks to the community and to TolkinGLX specifically, and a shoutout to 5 drive comes to mind as well as others who I do not recall who played a hand by sharing some of tidbit of advice or answered some question we say genuinely Thanks to you! Beezleb878 and Sister. | |

| I drove down to Colorado Springs yesterday and picked a DB up at the factory. The factory is small but they have a good collection of accessories and a display case of some amazing glass show pieces. Anyone around the Colorado Springs area should swing by. I had never vaped before so this was a new experience for me. It only took a few minutes to find the sweet spot and get the hang of it all. Having no experience with other vapes I can't compare but I can say that the DB is da bomb. I would highly recommend this vape as a good first vape purchase. The price is reasonable and the quality seems pretty solid. There is a 3-year warranty but the only thing that can really go wrong, besides broken glass, is a bad heating element. The design couldn't be simpler or more straight-forward. I believe this product will last for many years. Mine did not come with the oil diffuser and the one we tried at the store sat on the glass. It was nothing more than a small pyrex (or similar) bowl and I expect to be able to find something suitable in the kitchen or at a local thrift store. I tend to diffuse wintergreen oil for the same reason I smoke--it calms me down. This would be a nice feature for me but, for the average toker, prolly not a big deal. I've had it for one evening and it's already worth every penny. I would say that what would be two hits with a lighter is easily 8 hits with the DB. It will pay for itself in product savings in no time at all let alone the savings of future potential healthcare costs from all that other crap you get by burning. |
