Seven seconds from the time you plugged the Vape in? That's very weird.

I plug it in, turn the unit on with the fan on high. Leave it on high for a few seconds (no heat at this point, it says to start the unit with the fan on High) and switch to fan to low. Set the temp to 350F and hit the power for the heat. In ~7 seconds the light is green. So it's ~7 seconds from the time I start the heater, and probably around 12-20 seconds if you count from the time I plug it in and start the unit on High without any heat to 350F with the fan on low. I Keep the fan on low with the balloon attached for a few seconds then switch to medium fan speed to fill the balloon faster. The only negative I can think of so far is that the temperature isn't very stable. It hops around within +/- 5F constantly. This is probably the drawback and why it's able to heat up so fast. The instruction manual says it's common since the heating unit is constantly changing the temp to try and keep it at the set amount. Whether or not it jumps 5F doesn't seem that important though, as the vape hits are constant and do the job.

Do you own a 5.0? It says "New supercharged heating unit" but I don't know if that's BS or not. You guys all seem surprised but I really want to find someone with a 5.0 so they can report back with the time it takes them. Also, if you own a 5.0- does the temp jump around +/-5F a lot?

I looked for a warm-up time on Vapir's site, didn't see anything, emailed and got two replies-one from customer svc. and one from a guy higher up the chain that I've talked to several times (via email). He said the 5.0 would get to 175/347 in well under a minute. The other answer was under 30 seconds. I'm really surprised you can get vapor from a cold start in under 10 seconds. They've definitely souped up the heater. And a plastic housing helps too. The fast heat up also means it's susceptible to quick temp changes, but that's the nice thing about forced air-constant air flow, which makes it easy to keep the temp steady. That's with bag use. Using forced air and direct draw is a little more iffy.

haven't timed mine, but it is super fast. Less than 30sec. but who really cares how many sec.s as long as your gettin your vapor?

I have a better way to seal the unit than tape though. When you tape the entire unit you are pumping all the air into the unit with one small escape, I could be wrong, but I think that would make your electronics too warm, and cause back pressure on the fan. If you take the screws out and seperate the halves you can see the design of the housing pumps excess cool air into the handle because there is no plastic wall like at the top of the handle, and the air that can goes through the heater. The vapor leaks mainly out of the sides above the heater to the end of the unit, the tray, and a little around the top. I used aquarium silicon which is nontoxic when cured and rated to 400 degrees farenheit, and layed a small bead on the top edge of the plastic wall of the bottom half of the unit from either side of the top end of the heater to the top of the unit. waited 48 hrs for it to cure then reassembled. Now only a small amount around the tray leaks, but I am working out a clean fix for that too. Maybe just a spacer in the tray that will cause the latch to push the tray up against the top, which seals in the vapor. If you vape herbs at higher temps like 385+ you might want to use high temp rtv red silicon. Just make sure it completely cures before use. If you are careful, no silicone will show and your 5.0 will look as pretty as the day it arrived. It is a shame vapir didn't just make a groove in the plastic and put a silicone seal in it, and make the tray seal better, but maybe 6.0?

I will respond to this later today. A friend is coming over with his. I am certain though that it takes a minute or 2 as I have used it several times in the past 2 weeks.

Ok, here is the deal. From a cold start, the Vapir 5.0 takes between 45 seconds and a minute to reach 350 F. I timed it 3 times. If yours is heating up in 7 seconds from a cold start, I would contact the company quickly (90 day warrenty). Fo those of you that have seen my posts, my Extreme should be here today. I will give a full review from my "research" over the weekend

You mean that particular 5.0 takes between 45 sec. and a min. to heat up. These units vary in their heat up time and some do reach vaping temp in 10 sec. or less. I've confirmed this fact with the manufacturer. I didn't believe any vape could heat up that fast either. I was mistaken. I'll even go further with this and say that other vapes also have this 'varying heat up time' issue. With others it's probably less noticeable when one box vape takes 4 min. to heat up and another identical model takes 5 min. But heat up times definitely do vary with the same model (although it may not apply to all brands and models), and some Vapir Ones heat up very fast.

Default Just used the Vapir One 5.0

Well i just got mine TODAY, and before i used it, i read a bunch of forums about the Vapir Air 5.0 today at work...

I just used it for the 1st time like 1 minute ago and i should hurry...

I preheated it on 345°F (most forums i read said this was the optimal temp for this vaporizer) it was ready in less than 30 seconds, (this was the 1st time i ever turned it on) and by saying this i mean the green OK light was turned on. i do remember reading something about super heating ceramic or something...
I did notice the Temp Display fluctuated a bit, it said like 345-330-345-335-350-320 (i know it blinks the actual temp, then the target temp) so just to be sure i left it like 2 minutes more preheating while i filled the herb disk (no rocket science, open, fill 3/4 , close), they are SUPER easy to clean, from what i expected at least)

By the way the manual says to ALWAYS turn it on on fan speed HIGH and recommends to preheat in LOW (i didnt do this, i preheated on high)

Just filled 6 bags with 2 refills...
1st batch 345°F remaining "ashes" greenish/brownish
2nd batch 370°F definitively a more "brownish", still no smoke on either)

I used the 2nd temp because i read THIS study, and it says "The vaporizer produced THC at a temperature of 185° C. (365° F.) while completely eliminating three measured toxins" and thats good enough for me...

Next time i think ill use something like 360°F just to mess with it...

The "cool design" and "handheld" approach was what made me buy this, also the fact it that was the ONLY vaporizer i could find anywhere here in Mexico
If you are buying this with some friends or people that are about to become your friends, go for it, if its for personal/alone use, i would go with a desk vaporizer.
Its next to impossible to fill a bag, then taking it out, closing the cap on it and getting the next bag in.
Its not that it is anything hard about changing them, actually anyone with 2 hands can do it without any trouble...
Its just that you cant do it while holding the vaporizer.

Its usable without the bags, still i would like a stand or something for it.

Oh it is definitively working wonders with this crappy batch i have...

If it doesnt break down in 3 months id say it definitively is worth the $150 i paid for it...
(amazed that was the same price as the U.S. usually its like 30-50% more)

Any questions i will be glad to answer.
