Depending on how much and what kind you put in there it may vary in performance but this should do it. For the bag: I can get 3 bag fills (maybe 4 if it's really good). First bag I fill on high fan @ 290 C. Second bag I fill on high fan @ 300 C and turn to 310 halfway through filling the bag. Third bag I fill at 320C for the first half and 340 C for the second half. The last bag never tastes as good as the first, but here I am 5 hours later and I'm still stoned ![]() For the whip: I start off taking puffs around 310 C and work my way up to 340 C until no more vapor comes out. Very simple. | |

Apparently they've gotten rid of the temperature issue, or made it better anyway Fuck Combustion - Vaporizer Forum / The Extreme Vaporizer Thread Part II

![]() "Because of the relocation of the sensor, the new models of the Extreme can reach higher temperatures than the first few production runs. The temp limit has been reduced in new models, yet due to the change in sensor location in physical terms the unit does actually acheive higher temperature, i.e. whereas 300 gave good vapor on old models, 200 is the approximate equivalent on new models, so at 300 on new models, it is therefore higher temp than 300 on older models! Bit confusing, but in the long run this change makes things more straightforward."

All he had to say was they moved the sensor closer to the herbs. I reckon he was beta testing when he wrote that.

I have been thinking about getting a vape, but still not sure which model to get. I saw that funky add on You Tube and thought that might be the one. Hence I ended up on this thread Your info has been very helpful and certainly enlightening, but I'm still confused, but that could be due to the weed I am smoking. If I had to choose between am Extereme / Herbal Air / Silver Surfer, or another similarly priced unit, which would you recommend

whats your smoking style? Do you want to use bags, whips, direct draw (you) and/or assisted air (fan assisted). The extreme is like a good handyman. Can do it all but is generally considered average when compared to some models who specialize in only one thing such as the SSV, Da Buddha and Vapor Cannon for the direct draw category and the Volcano for bags just for example. I consider all the vapes on your list quality vapes that you will likely be happy with but I caution to select a vape that matches your styles, your preferences because their are trade offs. While I never have used an extreme I would likely select an extreme if I was considering a multipurpose vape that can do bags, direct draw and assisted air. In its category, I believe it to be the best quality. I have seen good and negative reviews of it but far more positive than negative. I also like how they seem to keep working to improve the model. I have heard nothing but positives about their customer service and support. Happy Vaping and hope this helped.

Yes i agree with bezleb878.....all good vapes...but depend on you....do you like hitting from a whip? i don't have it but ssv go strong on that side! Do you like bags...definetly get the extreme....volcano works good but i don't understand why it cost so much! Extreme give you full tasty bags like cano(i think better than cano..i tryed both) for half the price....and if you get bored of bags? Here step up the extreme and give you all the whip happiness....and remember glass is the best for taste...metal bowls sucks! For the herbalaire....good for bags but hard to use as whip vape... my 0.2€

Here are my extreme thoughts so far. Bought one about 2 months ago but left it at a friend's place. I must have an older version because 675 F seems to work the best. I was thinking changing the bowl design (screen closer to heating unit) would be the best way to solve this problem, but I guess Steve just moved the heating unit up more. We've only used the bag once because the whip has been so much easier to pass around. The vapor is pretty reliable at 675 F, and I love the fact that you can see your herb in the bowl. Personally, I try and inhale just enough to get the bits flying around a bit...y'know for even burn and mixing. The digital readout is kind of useless since it's always on max temp. The button layout is kind of annoying on the unit itself since the remote is better labeled, but I rarely need the remote. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase. Given the way I'm using it now, strictly whip, I would say a Buddha or SSV would be a better choice. However, having the bag capability is very nice and once the battery pack is here, I think the portability will really prove useful. Damn, I do wish my extreme had the closer heating element though, I'm worried that I'm not getting the most out of my bud since the temp doesn't get high enough for me to burn.
