First post here. Gonna throw my perspective into the mix so I thought a bit of background may be in order. Some of it may be framilliar to others so here we go...

I am a 49 yr old who has been enjoying since I was 15 (back in the 70's). Here in Ontario Canada it's not quite as taboo as it is in some areas of the world.

After over 30 years of smoking 1g - 1.5g of hash every day. I found myself hacking up a lung on every inhalation yet I still persist in my desire to enjoy. It's pretty hard to be discrete when you cough so much you draw attention to yourself no matter which way the wind is blowing. At home we don't smoke in the house, and we live in a townhouse complex so there is not a neigbour within earshot or a mailman who has done this route who doesn't know I smoke a lot of the herb. Some assume my wife does too since she smokes a cig while I hoot and they assume we share it.

At my golf club (or in any public place other than a marijuana rally) discression is still a good idea despite rather accepting attitudes. Ya never know what an individual may think. I love to smoke and play golf which is no problem with my regular foursome. BUT when I play with others with unknown attitudes I have to be careful, just like the backyard, except they may witness this a couple of times during a round. Not as discreet as I'd like for sure.

I don't smoke tobacco so a better way to partake was a goal for me but I always assumed that was like... Yah, whatever, dream on.

Then 2 months ago I learned about vapes. OMG how cool is this! Could this actually change my life??? Probably not, but maybe I need to look into this some more. I did a bunch of readings on forums and manufacturer's websites.
A month ago I bought a Vapir O2 which is definately not a mainstram model but it seemed promising since it was portable by virtue of it's battery capability and discrete in it's size so I thought that was pretty attractive. It works well for personal use and could be enjoyed in any porta potty in about 3 minutes. The same load can be reused a couple of brief hits so this will probably work out for me on the golf course. I can always claim ill health for the frequent trips to the potty. LOL.

I start to use it. I like it. I can smoke in the rec room where I have installed an exhale tube that runs outdoors. I talked my wife into allowing me to vape indoors if she could not detect an odour. She had to agree that there was ZERO smell form this setup. No more back yard hacking for me. Well not quite. I still crave a smoke now and then, so I do the after dinner puff, but guess what, I don't cough nearly as much. Anyway, after a couple of weeks I have a couple of additional observations. I have gone through half of the normal weekly consumtion. My buddy calls me asking if I am comming by this weekend and I say see ya next week. He is all confused. Did hell freeze over, have aliens kidnapped me mid week and replaced me with one of their own? WTF? LOL! Meanwhile I am getting blazed better than I have in years.

I am not coughing any more but I have to admit I didn't like the heat in the mouth so I hooked it up to a small mason jar bong. Dissapointing. Way too much air. I decided to look into bag vapes. I got an Extreme and I love it.

The Vapir is not getting a lot of use now since I am loving the Extreme. I have yet to take it golfing but I will soon.

.25g of hash is a great buzz. Way better bang for the buck than in a splif. I am sold on vaping. As I said I am consiming 50% of what I used to, and yet there is more to this story. I have heard that some call their vapour waste va-poo but I don't like that name much. It reminds me of that awful movie "Envy". Besides, mine are hash leftovers so I thought I'd name mine "Ha-shit". No matter. Call it what you want, just don't throw it away!



Anyway... I saved up 10 grams of "Ha-shit" and then I followed this cannabutter recipie...

• 10g Ha-shit
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter
• 1 cup water

Note: you will lose almost half of the butter in the process. This makes just over 1/4 cup butter

Directions:

• Boil 1 cup of water
• toss in the butter
• let the butter melt
• Turn to low temperature, 2 - 3 on a burner that goes to 8
• Add the Ha-shit.
• Stand by it mixing regularly so that it doesn't stick and burn for 30 minutes.
• cool a bit then strain into a tupperware container
• Boil 1/2 cup of water and use it to rinse out the sludge and cloth to get every last drop of butter.
• Put liquid in fridge to cool for 24 hrs
• Spoon off the butter layer - toss the water.
• Butter will keep in fridge or freezer, but keeps best in cooked food!

Then I made a batch of Brownies that called for an egg some water and 1/4 cup of oil.

I liked the brownies, but what did my buddies think?

Buddy X: Probably the most discerning reviewer I could find and all he had to say was... "That was freakin wicked."

Buddy y: Oh my poor buddy Y... He invited me to see the Foo Fighters concert. They came to town just after I made the brownies. One very large brownie and the poor fella was sooo fucked up. He's a Bus driver and was very concerned that his career was in jeapordy for a little while. He was amazed that I could be that blazed and navigate our way to our seats. We had a great time.

Ha-shit brownies rock. For every 10g of Ha-shit I get 12 "MessYouUp" 8hr, or 18 "Nice" 5hr brownies. Remember, this is from the leftover ABV hash.

So there you have it. Get a vape and save your lungs. Buy a good one, it will pay for itself in no time by being more efficient. Just be sure to hide it from your kids!

Nice recipe.
I'm going to try and cook with my AVB from my SSV (Silver Surfer Vaporizer), I may just make firecrackers though, due to the ease of making them.

nice story, vaporizing truly is the best way of consuming marijuana for all of the reasons you have highlighted.

We too made some avb brownies last weekend. We used 1/2 cup of oil cooked the avb (tons of it) in the oil for about 20 miutes, strained it and then made a box of brownie mix with the oil. Basically the same exact process as you but with oil.

I personally was a little dissapointed in the potency of the brownies, they weren't as strong as the times I have made firecrackers with my avb. But firecrackers with avb are so nasty that i would mever do that again.

I have to agree with him. I had to gag down what I made, and I've never done it again. I just use my ABV to make cannabis tincture.

^ Vicki i read your post but I still don't understand how exactly you make that stuff, or how it affects you. Do you have a summarized version?

I'm really vaped with the gf right now we were celebrating, and I'm having a very hard time thinking so please excuse me if I'm not making sense. I keep reading every sentence over and over again to make sure they make sense.

How did you make the fire crackers? The recipe I heard would consist of this:
-I'm not sure of the amounts though

No just from the recipes I heard they sounded not too bad, sounded like they worked quite well if the right ingredients were used.... I guess none of that speaks for the taste though.
