I really hope this happens even though I'm not near Nevada. Seems like they got a good campaign goin for it and if it happens, it'll always make it easier/more likely for it to happen in other states too.

That's a little bit of an oversimplification. No offense or anything. It's just that the federal government has tremendous power over the states these days. Moola baby. They don't have to amend the Constitution. All they gotta do is pass a funding bill or two that deny cashbucks to states that permit pot.

I don't have a clue about Nevada's fiscal health. I don't think it's a particularly wealthy state, but that's just an unscientific observation; too lazy to dig for the info right now. But certainly from a social standpoint it would make perfect sense for Nevada to emerge as a pioneer on the "rational marijuana policy" front. On the other hand, in accordance with their latest PR blitz, "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." Including liberal vice laws, unfortunately.

know you what i think that even if they pass it they probably wont even build any of the stores or give out the licences to the stores to sell it. just like the marijuana stamps that in the 70's or whenever they had them but never made any of the stamps. unless like it doesnt matter if you buy it from the store and you still dont get in trouble if its under an ounce.

Read up on the forums at http://www.regulatemarijuana.org They address all the questions regarding the federal issues. What is really cool though, is the next senate majority leader is going to be from Nevada, so if a majority of Nevadans vote yes on this it will pretty much be his duty to support it. Hopefully this will bring about some change for the better!

Wow, every Nevada voter should see that. I think it would quell just about every fear anti-pot voters have about the amendment. I don't like the anti-commercialization of it, but hey, this step forward goes a lot further than the decriminalization acts of other states. Go question 420, er, 7!
