Alright, so for those who wish to partake:

Simply take a small movie clip, not sure about sound, although I do know that some cheaper digital cameras are not able to take movies with sound. I think that as I am putting it together, I will add various music clips anyways, so its not really needed.

An 'ideal' clip would be "getting the bowl" from the right side of the filmed area, taking a hit, then "passing" the smoking device off the left hand side. The movies should be in some normal format, I think .avi would be the best, but nothing too crazy. As far as sending them to me; maybe e-mail would be the best route?

I'm looking forward to putting this together, and I'll start when I've got a few clips to work with.

After having tried to film myself smoking, I've found it was pretty hard. Maybe its just because I'm always baked while filming, but the camera angle is all wrong, and I tend to make odd faces.

I wonder if anyone else has tried this, its seems there isn't too much interest in setting this whole thing up, but I think it would be wicked cool.

OK. I'm gonna have some bud this weekend. I'll make a new video to start this off. I'll do a pass to the left, and start it in a new thread, so we can get this started.

Here's how I made my video:
The camera is a Kodak Easyshare DX7630 that has the ability to capture video as well as stills.
I set the camera on a high counter (think a "breakfast bar" connected to the kitchen) and sat on a stool. I slouched a bit to get the bottom half of my face in the shot.
I set the bowl & lighter in front of the camera. When I was all situated, I pressed the button on the camera to start, took the hit, then shut it off. I also made sure to move my arm in such a way that it was mostly off-camera.
(At the end of the above clip, watch my shoulder. You can see it as I reach over to the camera as I prepare to stop filming.)

My camera creates a QuickTime movie that's nice and easy to upload to YouTube.
