| HAHA I love how he says that they don't have the money to fight the legalization. Since fucking when? Marijuana legalization has always been and still is a grassroots movement whereas the enemy has alcohol, pharmaceutical, tobacco, and prison lobbyists on their side trying to keep us down. Who exactly are the "billionaires" on our side trying to help legalize it? Why exactly would a billionaire want to waste his money on this, what gain would come to them?

| They mention kids getting alcohol even though it's legal, but it's still not as easy for them to get as illegal drugs. They still need to find someone willing to take the risk of walking into a store and purchasing alcohol for them or someone who has the balls to go into a package store with someone elses ID or a fake ID to try and make a purchase. With marijuana bein illegal anyone can get it whenenever they want without fear of a clerk turning them in because they showed a fake ID or got caught using a real ID that wasn't them. The dealers don't care about ID and will sell to anyone. I also like how they continue to mention marijuana use is a violation of federal law, but the states come along and ban something that the federal government allows and your still arrested for it. If that's the case then the supreme court should throw out charges that don't violate federal law. The fuckin guy says no money for treatment and more marijuana use. If people want to go to treatment that's their choice. In other words keep marijuana illegal, bust the people who use it and put them in treatment is his idea which is what has been going on. The patients need to pay for the drug program and that's how the states get some of their money and the drug counselors get their pay, oh yea and the court officials get their money. If everyone in this country had the balls to say no to a drug program if caught with possession of any drug and just took their conviction and or ended up in prison for it, the drug programs would only have the amount of people in there that actually want the help. More kids are in treatment for marijuana because if your talking about anyone under the age of 18, when their parents find out that they use marijuana they have the drug czar to scare them with his statements into thinking that their kid could have an addiction and then they send their kid to rehab and they have no choice to refuse. He does this by saying it's not the marijuana your parents smoked back in the 160's, it's more potent and addictive! It's just propaganda, but some people get scared by it. I think they do this to get the parents that did use marijuana 30 or so years ago to not be lenient with their kids on it's use and to vote in favor of keeping pot illegal. No one ever tried to fool the voters except for Walters and other people like Karen Tandy. They try to scare the voters away from being in favor of legalization. Quote:
Theres no proof that the drug companies or the alcohol association funds money to the federal government to push for anti marijuana ads but it doesn't mean it's impossible because they have more than enough money to do it for their own benefits. John Walters isn't putting up any ads against alcohol use or that alcohol causes reckless driving or violence. Cops see it all the time for themselves when they show up at bar fights or car accidents. Walters talks about kids bringing guns to school as a result from marijuana use, what about hard drugs too awhile we are at it? Nope just marijuana use right! Alcohol has been the cause for 65% of murders in the United States every year. People get drunk and they pull out a weapon. If kids are bringing guns to school, that's more of a gun control issue than a drug issue. It's the parents responsibility to keep guns out of their kids hands, keep them locked away, etc. I live in the suburbs and have little violence where I am. Theres fights once in awhile between people but that's always going to happen anywhere, just never really any reports of shootings, 99% of the time it's fist fights. When I was in high school plenty of people used drugs, mainly mairjuana but I can assure you that people weren't bringing guns to school. Walters won't even mention where these kids are from that bring guns to school. Are they bringing them there to shoot someone or just bringing it there to show their friends so they think they are cool, trying to fit in? In cities with high crime rates theres probably more people that do bring weapons to school. That doesn't mean they are bringing them into school to harm people or because they use drugs, but if you live in a bad area and gotta walk home they might want to give themself a chance to make it to and from school alive. Whenever the news comes on, once in awhile you might hear of a kid bringing a gun to school, but it's not making the news every single day and it's usually in the cities when it does happen. It has a lot to do with how the kids are raised too. In conclusion John Walters should put his ass against the camera because that seems to be the place his words are coming from when he talks! | |

| I think most people with anything inside there skull would see stright throught this bullshit how many people when they are stoned think... I got an idea ill bring a gun into school and the only reason gang violence is there is because its illegal not because its legal Im really looking foward to when this bullshit backfires on this guy.

Actually, there are a few of the rich and disgusting that contribute to the reform movement. Montel Williams and Woody Harrelson are 2 famous names. There are also a couple of fortune 500 (eg: Mega rich) guys that that do contribute. I forget their names but Walters is referring to a few individuals when he mentions billionaires. He behaves like those people are dumping their entire bank accounts into legalization, but those billionaires do exist. When Walters complains that he does not have the money to fight legalization, he is really saying he he doesn't have the right money. His only real backers are alcohol, textile, and drug manufacturers. They all have power but make up only a tiny percent of the overall voice. That money, no matter how much it is, can't yell loud enough to change the laws to block legalization movements. Walters needs more big voices/more massive white collar contributers. And that is who he is calling to. Common money just can't cut it. It's got to be the white collar stuff.
