Default cops (warning not for kids) very shocking

Officer.com Video Network

i in no way see this as a good shoot. the officer said he was trying to ram him.i think he was trying to get away. if the officer got on the hood of the guys car he wasnt in danger of his life. he also said in the begining of the persute that if he gets a chance he is gonna take him out, what did he mean by that no one knows but him. there are many actions this officer COULD have takin spike strip, he even could have shot the tires out .. also look at what site its on they seriously think this is a good action to do? this really shocks me

Holy shit, that seemed like a normal car chase until the end, sure the cop was on the car while it was moving but that was at least 5 shots, is that really necessary?

1 minute, 45 seconds in: That's a stolen vehicle.

They tried (repeatedly) to subdue the suspect, he didn't stop. He was going in excess of 100 Miles per hour. He was a danger to not only himself, but to those around him. He was going over a hundred miles per hour in a RESIDENTIAL AREA. I live in Ohio, I've driven those streets, even at night there's kids who will cross the road. It's a populated area.

Do like what happened? No.

Did the cop use excess force? No. He stopped a suspect who was being an extreme danger to himself (the officer) and others, who had just committed a major felony, plus other "minor" ones. Grand Theft Auto, running from the police, reckless endangerment.... to name a few.

You also have no idea if the guy in the car had a gun or not - it seems to me that the officer on the hood tried (repeatedly) to get him to pull over before shooting. The guy was (obviously) not against using excessive speed to get away from the cops, so with an officer on the hood, there's no reason to think that he wouldn't accelerate again, and if the officer fell off, it could cause him fatal injuries.

Most officers don't have spike strips in their cars, so him just using a spike strip wouldn't be nearly as easy as you seem to think.

It's unfortunate when Justice is served without due process...but justice was served.

I wouldn't call it justice. Justice implies equality between a crime and a punishment. Grand Theft Auto, Running from the police... not an executable crime (if you even believe in the death penalty).

Sadly, I think this isn't so much a case of "Justice" as it is "Protection of those who need protection, by those who do the protecting."

Wow.. that video was a tad on the disturbing side.
I saw a similar video to this last week where the cop shot the guy at pretty much point blank range and rammed him with the car.
I really like the camera view of this one.. makes you feel like you are in the police car.

What makes you say the officer was trigger happy? Because he shot the driver? The driver was posing a a clear danger to those around him. Not just the officers, but the multiple other cars that had to swerve to get out of his way. He, at least once, maybe more, swung into oncoming traffic, which poses a huge risk to anyone in the opposing lane.

He didn't "stand in front of the car." He jumped on the hood, in an attempt to get the driver to stop driving, and get out of the car. He didn't start firing immediately, only after the car started moving again - once he started accelerating again, did he posed a danger to those around him, and the officer started firing.
