I have an idea... everyone pull the stick out of their ass and smell it. Your shit does, in fact, stink. I understand that this is a thread that stirs emotion, but step back and agree on one fundamental thing. Wars should be fought only when necessary, and violence avoided whenever possible.

I traveled along side two 'trackers' once, in Argentina. One night by the fire they told me that there were a number of remote tribes in the region that couldn't be tracked by the smell of their spoor. Something to do with their diet. Quote:

The one where you said, "This thread has really got the juices flowing. It even brought back the sailor dog, sterbo. We missed ya bud. Really. At least I did. Your soul and humanity are needed, even if you don't know it." Muchas gracias amigo ![]() Quote:

I'm not going to watch the video, but I can already tell you that what the marine did is horrible wrong, and their is something horribly wrong with that soldier for doing that as well.

Hopefully that marine was punished by his commanding officers as that does not represent the overall fine people who serve in the US Marine Corps. The Corps tends to instill a sense of pride and discipline of which this guy was definately lacking.

A Marine and a soldier are not the same thing...but I guess that guy does deserve to be called a soldier, so good call.

US military recruits more ex-cons The US Army and Marine Corps recruited significantly more people with criminal records last year than in 2006, amid pressure to meet combat needs. Statistics released by a congressional committee show 861 people were granted waivers to enlist, up from 457 in 2007. The crimes included assault, sex crimes, manslaughter and burglary. Among the convictions, many were for stealing, including burglary and car thefts, and drug offences. Waivers were also granted to three people convicted of manslaughter, nine guilty of sex crimes, and nine convicted of making terror threats, including bomb threats. In addition, the Army and Marine Corps granted 27,671 "conduct waivers" covering what are regarded as serious misdemeanours , up from 25,098 in 2006. "We're digging deeper into the barrel than we were before," an official told the Washington Post. The Army also argues that its ranks reflect the society they are drawn from. Only three in 10 Americans of military age meet the army's medical, moral, aptitude, or administrative requirements, army officials point out. *BBC NEWS | News Front Page (abridged version) | |
