For example, after you smoke, you put your piece away with all the water still inside, just so it's ready to go for your next smoke? I'd hazard a guess and say theirs nothing wrong with doing that if you plan on smoking within the next 24 hours, but would there be anything wrong with smoking from a piece that has water in it from 2 or 3 days ago? Is there any risk of microorganisms or any other contaminants settling up in there? MY bong has water in it but hasn't been used for about 4 days. Doesn't smell like mildew or anything, just bong water

I personally have left my bong water in it for weeks. My pot mentor kept the water in his bong for over a month. Matter of fact, I don't think any of my friends that have bongs empty their bong out after every use or even every couple uses. I think the only time they empty theirs out is when it just gets too damn stinky, which is the same thing I usually do. The only risk I know of with leaving it in there is it getting knocked over, and having that horrible smell everywhere.


Then again I'm not like a microbiologist or whatever, but I'd be very surprised to find out its dangerous.

I have left my bong water in for shamfully long periods of time, never had a problem except for that hookah I left in the garage during winter because it turned to ice and cracked the shit out of the glass - Lesson learned

I change my water before every use, thats just nasty otherwise. Ive left mine in there for very long times, weeks, but of course change it out before use.

I'm in the same boat as Adidas. I usually change the water in my peieces every two - three sessions. There is no detrimental organisms that will grow in your bong water as far as I know, you could try researching it online if you want to though. I have left water in my bongs for a few weeks at a time and my bubbler for at least a month at one time without any problems. However, your smoke will test better the more often you change the water and keep your bong clean.

I honestly dont know if its a health hazard to leave water in your bong, but if you think about it i bet some nasty shit can start growing in there but as long as u dont drink it u should be golden

Bongs are practically a pitrii dish for bacteria and virii. Change your water often if your conscious of your health. Afterall, you are inhaling this into your lungs.

I change my water every session/day, or at least every other.

Thanks for all your posts guys! I think I'm going to take the safe route and change the water before I smoke, if just for that fact its 5 day old bong water

My friend used to keep his bong water in the bong until we decided it was time for fresh water. Usually a few days. I personally clean my bong out after every use though.

You know, if you leave it in there long enough you can grow edible algae and antibiotic molds.
