Yeah, 99% of the time, just soaking it in some high concentration isopropyl will do the trick.

I find with hard to clean pieces, especially those using water filtration, as they tend to get really nasty, Acetone does wonders. It's price is comparable to Iso, but it usually comes in a larger container.

I just pour it in and it peels the resin off. I'd recommend wearing rubber gloves and not breathing in the fumes. Make sure you give it a good rinse afterward.

Special cleaners are a complete waste of money 999.999999999999 of the time. Few do ANYTHING that 50 cents worth of rubbing alcohol and salt won't do equally as well

Iso and rubbing alcohol doesn't get off calcium buildup from ice. With grunge off there is no scrubbing, it is earth friendly, recyclable and wait for it.......... it is reusable. If you spend good money on glass you should treat it well. I actually use iso/rubbing alcohol for my prodo glass. Check out all the nice clean glass over at TC. Try grunge off once, your glass will sparkle.

"Grunge off uses an enzyme to dissolve grease.
it's similar to commercial grade engine degreaser used by PRO Detailers and Car lots ( and no, it's not like anything you can buy at autozone).

It's EPA safe, just like the commercial degreaser.
GO works 100 times better than Salt and ISO.

GO was also developed by the largest TUBE maufacturer in the world.. so yes, it's made for cleaning your glass pieces, and is safe"

I too have actually heard good things about grunge off and how it is different. I've been thinking about trying it because my bong does indeed get calcium build up from ice and the isopropyl nor acetone does a very good job about removing it. Maybe I'll give it a shot and see how it works out....

Thanks for the help guys. I went to a few stores today and I wasn't able to find grunge off, but I did pick up a few other similar things. Could I use one of these?

High concentration alcohol or nail polish remover as long as your glass isn't painted or decorated with adhesives or the like. Make sure you clean it until nothing is coming out of it since things get stuck everywhere. Also, clean it often; I once had a bubbler that broke after I cleaned it. It broke because there was an inch of buildup around the water bulb and it just created pressure and cracked the glass. Keep a hold on the cleaning situation, otherwise it could mean certain doom for your new glassware.

Alright, so I just cleaned my bubbler with salt and rubbing alcohol, but there is still some residue left in the chamber and the pipe going from the bowl to the chamber (don't know the name). Is there a better way of getting the excess residue out of these places. Thanks again for the help everyone.

PS - I cleaned it twice with the alcohol/salt then I cleaned it with Simple Green.
