anyways, i have a metal bowl and stem i use for homemade bongs and i was wondering whats a good way to clean metal, ive heard of glass ways but i wasnt sure if it worked for metal

i mean anything that will work better than scraping it out with a gun cleaner and ruining it....

Rubbing alcohol should work fine. you can soak it, or just pour it inside your piece, shake it up (you can also add salt if you want to, it helps clean it a little faster) and when your done shaking give it a good rinse and scrape any small bits that may be left.
The higher concentration of alcohol the better

Ruining it? It is a metal pipe. Unless you're the Hulk, you will not ruin it.

it would get all gunked up and ive had to throw many heads away

Soak it for a few hours in 90% Isopropyl alcohol (70% will work if that's all you can find). The alcohol will liquify the tar within the piece and it can be easily discarded. You can finish the cleaning off with a few q-tips for good measure after the bulk of the tar has been removed. .

IMO this is the easiest way to clean the tar from glass or metal pieces.

Man good ole fashion water and a microwave or oven top will do the trick fine...wont make your bowl smell like straight alcohol or shitty.

Put it in a microwave safe dish, take apart the metal bowl as much as you can if it comes apart, put all pieces in dish, preceed to put in microwave for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove, let sit for a couple minutes, drain and get a paper clip or Q-tip and clean whatever resin still remains.

If you're feeling extra nutty put all that black resin into a ball and smoke that som' bitch lol if you smoke decent bud or a lot of bud in it you prolly will get a decent high.

Please, for the sake of everyone else in your house -- don't microwave metal.....

Isopropyl alcohol, agitation and time are your best bet. Let it sit in a tupperware overnight with some isopropyl alcohol... In the morning, rinse with hot water over the sink.
