i smoke out of my bong and theres always bud that goes down the stem into the water no matter how i pack it..small cost i guess for a good high, but im getting into the habit of now putting aluminum and poking holes, water pipe bowls should come with bud catchers

I always just pack a big chunk in the bottom. When it pulls through, its cached anyway...

Get yourself some steel or brass sink screens... Aluminum is possibly bad for your health... if not then put a big nug at the bottom where the whole is and then put the grinded weed on top

Aluminium is not harmful to smoke out of, if you want to keep that clean "just weed" taste I'd advise getting some glass screens. I don't think there especially expensive.

Aluminium on its own has a melting point of 660.32 °C (that's 1220.58 °F), and a considerably higher boiling point. Now unless you light your bowls with a volcano, chances are you're not going to melt the aluminium -- but that doesn't mean it's a good idea. "Aluminium foil" is not just aluminium; it's got other additives. While these additives are safe when the aluminium is used for wrapping food, etc., without knowing exactly what these additives are it's impossible to determine whether heating them and (potentially) breathing in their vapors might be harmful -- so it's probably not a good idea to do that. I've seen waterfalls made with an aluminium foil bowl before -- and as the foil heats up and gets charred, the smoke takes on a slightly yellowish tinge. Marijuana smoke doesn't do that on its own, so it's my guess that the foil released vapors of some kind. There's no guarantee that your foil will do this -- but again, without knowing exactly what makes up the aluminium foil, it's probably not a good idea to use it for smoking purposes.

this topic has been discussed for a long time, its not harmful do a search...u arent getting any aluminum in your system, or your food when u use it! anyway im gonna look into the glass screens. ive though about the the steel ones which i use to use for metal bowls, but they get clogged and its harder to break a whole through the screen when firing it up...imma see these glass screens now online if i can, cuz is easier to unclog..

Personally I lose my glass screens alot because they fall out. Why would you need to poke a hole in your metal screen when firing it up? If its a fresh screen it will work like a charm... once it gets clogged after several times of use then just change your screen. They are like 2 cents.


I did do a search about aluminum foil. Theres no evidence saying it isn't harmful... nor is there much evidence saying it is harmful. Personally I hate the taste. As for pop can's I know those are bad because your burning the paint. As for aluminum foil Im just not very fond of it as screen material, although I admit that it may not be to harmful for you .

I really need to get glass screens. I smoke out of my bubbler and have really ground up material so It all goes in the water without a lot of it being burnt. I had to do this last weekend when there was nothing better. So much lost. Do they sell usually sell glass screens at headshops? And what is the average price?

i knew it wasnt just me..even if u pack it right..like a solid piece at the bottom shake on top..one its near the end it usually deteriorated and breaks into pieces andthey get sucked in..u usually notice this the most when u get a clean bong stem u can see the cherries flying in..even on pipes..howmuch are these glass screens..i have a headshop near by
