| Bong smokers and tokers - Do you prefer to have the stem in the deep or at the top, almost shallow part of the water ?

| Not to shallow, not to deep. Especially with a defuser, got to make sure all holes/lines in the downstem are below water.

| Well to get the most out of your water filtration you want the stem as far into the bottom opposite edge with enough water to cove the end by about 1 cm, a diffuser makes it even smoother and you get less splashback. |

| Kind of strange to me that anyone would want it in the shallow part. When I purchased my bong, they custom blew me a diffused stem that comes 1/2" from the bottom. I wouldn't have it any other way. |

| Hmmm, never though about that but definitely possible with a non-diffused stem that is close to the bottom. I clean my bong weekly and have a diffused stem, so this isn't an issue for me. |

| i like clean hits, i put my stem pieces close to the bottom as i can, and cover atleast 1 inch of it with water. think about when u lean back to hit it, the water lever changes and the stem gets deeper in the water my way. if its too close to the top some of the smoke doesn't even get to touch water, eeewww for dry bongs :S |

| I just put my stem and the bottom opposite corner and hit it and see how it sounds feels and if it is not to my specifications then if gets moved up and towards the center. |

| I deff recommend a diffuser on a straight shooter. Like 420downunder said, creates less splash back. I like a decent amount of length on my stems to be submerged. Plus I always tip the bong back when I hit it. For an added depth.
