alright, well since parents are out of town this weekend (and week), i decided this is as good of time as any to buy a bong (i got a place to hide it) but i dont know anything...at all...about them. i think i will have around $120-$140 to spend but what should i get? any brand? how can you tell a good bong from a bad bong? is there a difference? this is going to be my first time actually high (ive toked a few times but never really there) so i would like something fairly nice

Buy one that you like. I've had cheap bongs that I liked more than expensive ones. I'd suggest going with a plastic one,cuz glass breaks,and if you're gonna have to be stealthy about it,you're gonna want something durable. My idea is save some money and buy more weed with what money you have left,that way you can enjoy your new piece. Have fun!!

thanks well the hiding place...well i found these tower speakers, about 3 feet tall and about 10" deep and about 13" across that will fit about anything. and to hide the weed im going to use a hallowed out hard drive casing...i have a stack of 4 hard drives, only one of them is hallowed out woohoo but yea...i already went to the headshop once but got kicked out since it was my first time and i didnt know what at all. and the workers werent completely baked yet. anyone here from kansas city?

i also heard a bubbler would work as good or better. is that true?

Bubblers aren't necessarily better or worse, they're basically just cooled down pipe hits. They won't compare to a bong rip, but they do make great pieces. I just recommend going into your local headshop, look around, ask some questions, make sure and hold the piece, be sure it's solid and doesn't have a weak neck. I'm personally not a big fan of the brand-names, but RooR is a good company, and you'll most likely find a quality piece from them. There are different things you can get for your bong, like an ashcatcher, or you may like one with an ice chalice (will be indented towards the bottom of tube). You may also want to pick up some glass screens as a new bong stem will have a larger hole, and bud may get sucked in.

it's all about personal preference but may i suggest a kaos if you can find one, my good friend bought one for 60. it was about 8 inches but it was a damn fine bong, you know, nice thick glass. the cheap plastic ones are a great choice if you're clumsy and break shit..

ahaha ^ thats awesome yea im going down to the headshop tomarrow because parents are leaving. so size doesnt really matter? i saw a few last time i was there, and the cheaper ones were no more then a foot. anyway thanks

Honestly man, your crazy, I wouldn't spend 120 bucks on a bong unless i had my own crib, it'd be a 3 foot glass one that sits and awaits the arrival of my mouth, You sound like a teenager, So, go with an acrylic bong, Very nice.

And, it'd be your best bet to ask the other stoners in the headshop, or the employees from there perspective.
