My very first ever homemade please tell me how to improve!

So tonight i knew i was going to smoke a bowl and play some video games, so i decided i wanted to make a homemade bong (although i do already have a glass bong), and since my glass bong didn;t have a perc i decided to make a homemade with a perc. any comments? Well here are some pics.
I know its not the best looking but it really high, and i know my dowstem needs to be metal (couldn't find anything).

Nice positioning on the stem and socket.

And btw, the stem DOESN'T have to to be metal. I've made many great bongs with a garden hose! haha

damn, my mom just threw away our old garden hose...

My house has LOADS of garden hoses! haha. It's pretty handy!
